When u use to pray to squeeze into a 18 but now you're giving away clothes from 22- 16's. Its a good feeling but frustrating also...gave away 4 full boxes and have 1 box to keep. Need a shopping spree...ASAP!!!

You need to tighten the straps on your sandals because they are too loose.

Usually have to shimmy out of my pants when I was in an 18/16. Today when I undid my zipper and belt on my size 16 jeans they fell to the floor! Yay!

I think all of these comments are a ditto for me. With of course the ones pertaining to all of the fair ladies on the forum. Weightloss surgery for me was a great decision and a life saving one to boot.

When you can put your wedding ring back on! I have not worn my ring in many years cuz I was too heavy and refused to resize the ring. I was always going to lose weight! Well finally I have. Put it on for the first time today! Sooooooo happy.

My mother gave me a beautiful Diamond ring of hers for my 40th birthday four years ago. I kept meaning to get it sized but never did. Last night I was going to my safe looking for some papers and I saw the box I took a pretty ring out of the box and put it right on my finger it fits!

When you can turn on your side in bed and just let your knee fall beside your leg and there's some space in between. No more hiking your knee up to your rib cage!

I knew I was losing weight when I'd cleaned out my closet before vacation, and now that I'm back I find I again have hardly anything to wear that fits! Thank goodness for thrift stores.

I used to tuck my cell phone into the upper edge of my bra and use it on speaker while moving around - now if I do that even the slightest hint at bending over will topple it out - there's not enough of me in the bra cup to hold it in tight any more.

You know you lost weight when you go on a plane for for the first time in years you don't have to worry if the seatbelt will fitting . Plus there was so much extra space.

attachicon.gif:

@mariavg I completely agree! i actually took pictures of the space between me & the belt... SUCH A GREAT feeling... I flew in Nov of 2013 and the seat belt bearly clicked - this time i flew... it was just awesome... no dreaded looks of "oh no she is sitting next to me" it was just nice to not worry about it... i just scooted into my seat... not only was the seat belt roomy... so was my seat! YAY US!!!!

When you become focused on counting calories in order to prevent further weight loss!!! First time ever in my life!

Or, making sure you cook eggs in real butter and ordering the full fat caramel frapp with whip cream because you need the extra calories. :)

I'm 18 lbs from my goal weight and have started tracking calories to slow the loss.

When a few months after the sleeve, a typical spring gust that used to end and dissipate when it made contact with my body, now nearly blows me of my feet and pushes me around. When this happened a few months after my sleeve, I think it was the first time the wind physically moved me since I was a teenager. :P

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
