Dec 5th is coming right up! Hope you get a date soon! I'm doing good. Minimal problems. Just getting used to eating so slow and so little. Was at the gym tonight and was on the treadmill, thirsty. I went to take a drink of Water, forgot for a brief second that I have the sleeve and took a big sip. I had such an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. Have t take small sips :-) Other than that, not bad at all. I'm down 27lbs. Little over 3 weeks

That's awesome that 27 lbs is gone so fast! I called MGH yesterday and after I meet with the surgeon I can begin the support groups and get approval. I honestly can't wait. I want this so bad. Hoping when I open my pool this summer ill be a lot happier in a bathing suit!

Good luck George!!! I would do anything just to have a surgery date' date=' so i'm super jealous. All you MGH'ers.....how long did the whole process take? they seem to be pretty busy so I was curious what the timeline was like for some of you....[/quote']

Do you have a date with Dr Gee yet. I'm scheduled for 1/15 with her.

I am from the South Shore area too and I was sleeved on August 15 at the Brigham. I've lost just under 35 lbs so far and feel great. If I can answer any questions for you let me know!

Katie, I also had my surgery August 15 th 2012 at Brigham by dr Scott shiroka. I was on the 15 floor we would have been there the same time. They kept me for two half weeks after surgery. How are u doing with it?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
