I lost 160 lbs at my lowest but have since gained 70 back. I had surgery almost 3 years ago.

I am still better off than where I started. I was able to get pregnant and have a child, which accounts for some of my gain, but I was slowly gaining prior to that because I stopped following the diet and exercise program.

Now that my baby is a little older, I'm getting back to the gym and hope to lose all I gained back, and then some.

Phew! It has taken me DAYS to read this entire thread. Very helpful, sobering insight from all the veterans. Thank you all for keeping it real. I have to say, I was hoping after surgery to lose my obsession with food, tracking, etc., and just "be," but it IS good to know that I'll have to make peace with being accountable forever.

I'm going to suck it up, buttercup. Thank you for sharing your very real struggles, everyone. I hope you all find answers and hope for a new start.

@@reallyrosy, good luck on all that you are working on. I get you are disgruntled, but you're still slogging through the mud to find an answer and try to overcome. You may be bitching and crying your way to redemption, but you seem to have the gumption to go the distance. Keep going! I hope things turn around soon for you with the injuries and semi crackpot therapist suggestions. I'm going to have to hit Dr. Google for that cranium thingy.

Just when you think you've heard it all . . .

Reallyrosy,

So far complication free, only normal aches and panes, not hungry at all, no cravings, my Dr allows puréed first day home, but I'm to nervous to start that yet - going to try slim fast high Protein today,

It's so frustrating. We think when we have surgery, our problems are over.

I'll be 7 years out soon and it frustrated the heck out of me that I'm still fighting every day.

I had a binge eating weekend and now it's going to take weeks to take it back off. That is if I can stay on track every day.

I have a book about the dolution to binge eating. It isn't a diet. It does require blood testing and suggests there is some kind of imbalance with bacterial overgrowth. Sinde i broke my knee, i cant follow up on a clinic that does this testing. Zinc and something else are said

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
