Did Doc put a Band on me instead of sleeve?

Recommended Posts

OK I have this irrational fear that the surgeon put a band in me instead of the sleeve like I wanted. I know there are certain things like everytime I go to the docs office they all mention how is my band. I also feel like I have a band and I can feel someone that I think is a fill site.

How would I know the difference?

I am very scared.

Can you just ASK them?!?!

My Dr office ask how is my band, but that is because they do so many more bands than VSG's. I remind the nurse every time that I do not have the band LMAO!

Jus check around your belly button area and feel for a port. If you don't feel a port you don't got the band... Easy huh lol

The port isn't near the bellybutton. I will tell you that my port scar was very different then the little keyholes for the laproscopic surgery - the port scar was more of a thin line.

I think the people in the docs office are just saying band since that is what they mostly do...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
