Little People and There Big Mouth...

Weridest, wildest thing happened at work today! First let me start off by saying that all my co workers know about my surgery and have been super supportive, my cheerleaders, so they know me at my heaviest and me now. Today at work I was training a new assoicate. During her orientation she made a comment about one of our customer's size/weight. Of course she doesn't know me from Adam, so she didn't know I was a big girl at one time. It just blew me away! I instintly got very defensive and told her that she doesn't know her situation and not to judge. She looked at me with a confused look on her face. I bluntly and politely told her that I was that ladie's size if not bigger, and it makes me sick to see how judgemental people can being about a person's appearance/weight. She of course apologized, and I'm pretty sure she'll think twice before judging anyone's size. Mission accomplished! ;) I am so "protective" of curvy people! I feel like I have to defend them and let "Tiny Tina" know what's up!!

Thank you. We should all think that way not just about peoples weight but about a good many things we judge people on. It was a tough lesson to learn for that girl but I think she will be better for it.

Not only that but it's very unprofessional to talk about clients in that personal way, particularly if she was being insulting! People just need to learn to keep their mouths shut... lol. Besides don't "clients" or "customers" generally keep us in our jobs? :)
