lung xray found a spot on my lung

OK, so I have my surgery on the 27th and am already on the liquid diet for the past 4 days. I had my pre-op this last Tuesday and had the blood work and the chest xray etc..... I got a phone call today from the surgeons office saying that I had a spot on my lung from the chest xray and that he wants some more test done to determine if the spot is just a scar or if it is something more serious. You know how down I felt at that moment to think that I was not going to be able to have the surgery??? After Ive already paid for it.....It was a low moment.....anyway, I alreay knew that I had a spot on my lung and my primary said that it was probably a scar but had never done a work up on it. So here I am, 10 days away from surgery and I have to go get a CT scan w/contrast of my chest STAT.....Luckily, I work for a hospital and already got it done and already have the results too.....IT'S JUST A SCAR!!!! YEY!!!! So the surgery is still on....... But, they said that I had a small hiatal hernia and gall stones. I know the surgeon will repair the hernia. Does anyone know if the gall bladder will be removed if there is proof that you have gallstones????

When I had my surgery, they fixed a hiatial hernia & removed my gallbladder. I had to go to see a specialist who made a recommendation to my surgeon as to whether it was neccessary to take out the gallbladder or not. For me, I had a lot of stones & some scarring on my bile duct, so they said it had to come out. I would check with your doctor if he will do it or not. I figure that as long as they are alread in there, they might as well fix you up. :) Good luck with your surgery!
