Hey Joyce,

Congratulations!! It's great that you're getting hungry--that's a sign that everything is returning to normal inside. Take comfort in that when the growly hungries return in force.

And now is the time to discover the glories of soup! Egg-drop or hot-and-sour Soups are high in Protein and really yummy. There's an endless variety of Soup out there and now is your chance to discover them. Have fun! :(:D

Hi Congratulations on being banded..I'm newly banded myself. I was banded on April 6th. I was on clear liguids for well over 2 weeks and during that time I drank gatorade, oranje juice, chicken broth , all juices, Jello and popsicles. My doctor didnt want me to have Protein drinks until the10th day post op. Every doctor is different with their own diet to follow but you might want to try the Jello and popsicles even though they are considered a clear luquids I felt like I was eating and it kept me from getting bored with just liquids.

congradulations, i had my banding done on th 16th of april and was on a liquid diet of a total of three weeks. it was hard but i survived and now i am on soft food til the 15th of may. it really helps if you keep yourself occupied and keep themind off food, easier said than done. support is a great help also. hang in there, it gets better every day.

Thanks George for that.Well I have been doing fine til really yesterday evening. I broke down and started crying. But I am fine now.I guess when you stay home and you just think of all the things you could be eating .I get bored to and that was one of my problems.I would nibble when i wasn;t even hungry. So I know it takes one day at a time.So what are you able to eat now?You know I never asked this question but will we be able to eat normal one day?

thanks and keep in touch

Depends what you mean by normal! For me having a cheeseburger as a snack before dinner was normal!

Yes,you will be able to eat a varied balanced diet, just in much smaller quantity(after fills). Most foods are

tolerable. Some people have problems with bread, Pasta and rice.Carbonated drinks are difficult for me since the last fill and i tried beer and it felt stuck so oh well! for that.I also find having vegetable broth or other broth before eating helps because it doesn't fill me up and it makes my meal feel likes it takes more time.My head could NOT accept the fact that i was done and it took only 10 minutes and a few bites so i drag it out with Soup BEFORE I eat.(not after cuz you'll wash the food out of your small stomach)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
