  1.    garseesmarie reacted to a post in a topic: How much does your band hold?
  2. I am a little diet rock As cute as I can be. Although I'm sweet to look at, I'm both fat and sugar free. When you get up each morning Lift me high into the air, Then set me on the floor 10 times Before sitting on the chair. Please place me on the table At the place YOU plan to eat And remember I am watching What YOU do and what YOU eat. When you are serving up your plate Please leave my section free, And I'll reduce the calories By the space you saved for me. After you have eaten, Although I'm just a rock, Please slip me in your pocket And take me for a walk. If YOU do this faithfully, Then in a month or two, Although I'll still be just the same, YOU'LL be a slimmer you.
  3. i saw a plastic surgeon 2 weeks ago..it's not good news about OHIP paying for anyting..the doc showed me pics of people with their bellies hanging near their knees that were denied by the plan!!?Anyways i left and decide that i will apply for medical credit and do it myself... When i called the ministry of health they said the doctor must submit the recommendation. :faint:
  4. i have had my band for 4 years.I totally agree about the level of restriction and how that affects what you can eat. I choose to not be too tight(for several reasons) I LOVE pizza and cannot imagine a life without it! I too can only eat one piece and i am WAY full.I can eat a bit of salad too and always leave the bones now.You can dip it in salad dressing to help it slide or just order a veggies pizza and eat 2 pieces but don;t eat the dough. I eat anything i want when i want but i have learned moderation.Sometimes if it gross for you food i will try and wait it out.If that doesn;t work i go ahead and have it since it makes the craving go out of my head.I eat enough to be full but not enough to hurt myself. Ask me anything else if you want.I will be honest about my own experience.I consider myself successful but not at goal and a super way loser.I have had NO single complication and my stomach and band are still healthy.I have never been too tight, don;t know if that makes a difference or if it's just blind luck. I have never exercised and that is why i still need to lose 30lbs (BUT NOT 100 anymore!!!))) I have joined a gym(see other post for support) and am on my way to a healthier me because of it. Chantal
  5. Hi Everyone! Some of you might rememeber me..i have been part of this nice little group for about 4 years now but it's kind of a hit and miss for posting..i do keep track of all of you by reading new post almost daily. I FINALLY did it! I joined Good Life Fitness yesterday. The new club in my area opens up on Firday at 5:30 and i will be there! I started this journey at 5'2 and 232lbs/I weigh 162 now.I need to get off my rump and MOVE if i want to lose the rest(i want to get down to 135 and then a TT) and i DO intend to even if it kills me(ok i know exercise won;t kill me but it sure feels like it!!even the thought hurts)i know that i will eventually get into it especially once i see results.I am looking forward to the classes and being happier with myself instead of always saying 'tomorow!' I have quit smoking too.Yesterday was the official quit day..yeah me!!!!! I will post to let you know how it's going and also hopefully motivate other non exercisers, geez if i can do it,you can too!! Salut!:rose::clap2:
  6. i always sleep " a l'air" ..the tangle issue as well. When winter hits you'll find me naked except for big comfy men's work socks(they NEVER touch the ground)just slip them on before bed, take the rest off and zzzzzzzzz:p
  7. Hey i too need plastic surgery!! In order of want: TT boobs thighs If you guys are serious and one of you is research smart,we should set a date and go together, possilby a discount,we could share rooms and heck we don;t eat alot so it can't be THAT bad.Plus we can all support each other yoo hoo!!! I have a consult with a surgeon in Ottawa hoping OHIP will cover but my hopes are not that high...It sure would be nice to NOT have to wear a body girdle every day for the rest of my life!! I quit smoking today hoping that i can exercise more but sweat and spandex don't go together too well! :think Please don;t forget me if any of you decide to do this cuz i am sooooo IN!:clap2:
  8. i believe oatmeal could possibly stretch our stomachs but you wouldn't be able to eat enough to do it.It fills up quick and then presto! You are set until lunch. I get in trouble with eating at night if i don;t fill up during the day. EAT YOUR BREAKIE!! (oh and exercise sigh.....)
  9. Hello, I like to eat something hot in the morning. It feels more like eating if it's hot! My favorite is instant oatmeal with small handful of walnuts.Nuts are VERY good for you..don;t be scared of fat content(unless you sit and eat the whole bag) the banana bread oatmeal w walnuts or cinnamon roll oatmeal w the nuts are FABULOUS and keep me sooooo full that i could easily skip lunch if i wanted to! I usually will have some kind of Soup, homemade veggie or chicken and veggie or beef veggies(i think you get the pic!) I have been banded for 4 years.I am 5'2 and started at 232,i am down to 160.I never gained anything back and have never had a hint of trouble w my band.It has been a major learning process.i need to lose 35 more lbs and only need to incorporate exercise to lose the rest,my eating habits are +++healthy most of the time but i do not ever deprive myself. If i want it, i eat it, but not 2,3,4 portions of whatever.ex.1 slice of pizza(no peperoni, who needs all that fat and grease,i will order the veggie(what else!) oopps back to breakfast,my other choices for b-fast usually include 1 whole wheat toast with a fried egg( teeny bit of butter in a non stick pan)slap your 'coco' on there,a slice of cheese wrap it all up in a napkin and you are good to go. I avoid fake or fat free food cuz they tend to taste gross and do not satisfy at all.I don;t usually eat any Protein bars or shakes either, never have.I prefer real food!!I eat small portions of regular food, much like 'normal weight' folks! sometimes (this was Alexandra idea from years ago) I will eat my soup for b-fast and the oatmeal or egg at lunch ect...
  10. Thanks, I will write in the general thread section under the heading, "Hey! You! don't ever give up!"
  11. I usually have banana bread oatmeal with a handful of walnuts or 2 eggs and 1/2 slice of toast or raisin bran muffin(can't eat a whole one,i usually only eat the tops now.) Lunch, soup and crackers or half a sandwich or leaftovers from the night before. Dinner with the family but less and i usually only have a few mini bits of the potato/rice and focus first on the meat thn veg... i will do a little write up about my lap band exp....
  12. Sunshine is a very dear friend who has had a run of BAD luck....i immediatly thought of you guys,of course. Even if no one has any legal advice or knowledge please pray for Sunshine and her family as they need all the help they can get right now> God bless!
  13. You want not original .My user name is the first letter of my real name...sigh:(
  14. If you focus on how these folks look WHILE eating this crap, really look at them and try not to think of the food, they actually look gross, stuffing all that junk in their gullets. The noise too, focus on the gross smacking noises and then go back to your dainty small bites,chew-chewing,healthy plates and portion and feel good about the positive choice you have made for yourself! (this sometimes works for me and sometimes i just leave the room if it's too hard!!)
  15. In my job i come into contact with many people who work in fast food kitchens, nice restaurant kitchen, top of the line kitchen's,cafeteria kitchens...please trust me when i tell you that you do NOT know who is making your food.i have seen(and smelled)the folks who work in these places(can you say DIRTY fingernails)! I know that not all cooks/chefs are like this but it made me realise that eating at home, even if it's just broiled chicken and a salad or a can of soup,is a much safer bet...always!
  16. I am from Ottawa...just 45 minutes by plane,eh!
