i cannot stand the sound of someone eating!

Recommended Posts

Maybe it's because I'm on liquids but I cannot stand listening to people eat and chew. It annoys the crap out of me! My place isn't that big and I can hear my son or boyfriend eat at the table and it grosses me out, I just want to walk over and smack the food out of their mouths. Sorry for my lame vent session

Sincerely

Bitter Betty

I have always had that "problem". I have never liked to hear others eat - even when I am eating with them. It just really irritates me. I chalk it up as one of my pet peeves. It's also probably why I don't like to eat in restaurants or around others - I really prefer to eat all by myself.

I am the same way. I've always disliked the sound of people eating, but since surgery it has been a thousand times worse. Just try to be patient. It gets better and your urge to strangle everyone subsides eventually!

LOL...this is the one thing that really intensified post-op for me. I have always hated the sound of people chewing or smacking on their food. UGH. But after surgery, I drove my poor husband crazy by always shooting him a dirty look while he was trying to eat in peace. Good news is, the hyper-annoyance of it has receded again.

Fortunately, I live alone because there are so many new body and head changes that I would hate to impose these on others or have them bother me. I am post-op three weeks and have lost 20 lbs. I haven't lost another pound since my surgery and I'm doing less than 1,000 calories a day. Have you all ever experienced this? I'm starting to wonder if the surgeon just made random cuts and never took out the stomach.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
