How long are you out of work?

How long on average are you out of work? I'm thinking about Surgery with Dr. Kelly in Mexico. How long does he write you out for? I have told my supervisor what I am planning to do and she is supportive but I don't know how long to tell her I will be out of work. Can you help?

I was out 4 days - took vacation - and this was not nearly enough, I was miserable for the first month. Take 2 if not 3 weeks off if you can manage it.

Thanks! I was wondering about that...It looks like I might need Short Term Disability or FMLA cause I definitly don't have that much vacation left. LOL

I took 1 month off, and that was perfect. I was very weak post surgery, and needed to lay down several times during the day.

I had surgery on May 16 with Dr. Kelly. I will be off for 4 weeks due to my job requiring lifting. Being a critical care nurse, I am always running around at work. Pain isn't the issue, just energy level plus lifting restrictions.

I had 5 days off work and was fine to go back. I have not had any drop in energy levels at all. But everyone is different so just listen to your body! X
