Having my band removed/VSG surgery on 6/17!

Wow...a week ago I made the decision to have my band removed and found out today my doctor can do it on 6/17. I am nervous and excited at the same time. I've had my band for 14 months and while I have lost most of my weight, I have 10 lbs to go to get to goal, my body seems to not like fills and I've had as many unfills as fills during this time. My doctor has told me many times that he doesnt think the band is for me in the long run and believes the VSG is the way to go. I hope he is right and judging on what I've read, he seems to be!

Hey Tiff!

I love hearing you say that! I want to be "living proof", too! I've lost 26.5 lbs in 5 weeks. I am shooting for at least 10lbs a month until I reach my goal of 145. (that's about 5.5 months...do-able, right?)

Totally do-able ! ! ! I'm a firm believer that the sleeve can and does work for 98% of patients that are willing to 1) put in the effort 2) have patience with their bodies 3) don't have a ton of metabolic issues beating them up one side and down another (even though I know many with metabolic issues that have soared passed their goals, it took them "longer")

Thanks Honey! I really am stoked! I love my sleeve! I love the fact that I am not fighting the old hunger monster. It truly is amazing. I love being satisfied with the food I am eating. The sleeve gives me time to think about the right choices. (it reminds me of how diet pills used to work, without the sleepless nights, that is!)
