a burger on a plate? I am going on for dinner tonight for my husbands birthday and I just want to order a cheeseburger on a plate. I can eat them at home (well 3 oz) and it's something I greatly enjoy so I want to order one for dinner just on a plate. I plan on asking for a to go box when they bring my dinner so I can cut off only what I will eat and box the rest to avoid the uncomfortbale 'was it not good conversation?' Will they think I am nuts???

Nope they won't think you are nuts...and if they do they won't give you an evil eye. My Aunt is gluten intolerant and often orders things is weird ways. :-D

I have not been sleeved yet but i was in the past on a ketosis diet and I ordered food like that all the time and some people just give you the look like they want to ask you why would you not want the best part..lol but never bad attitude or anything. some people do look at you like you are speaking a different language just because they have never had an order like that but never anything bad. hope you enjoy your dinner with your hubby, i cant wait til im on the other end and figuring all this stuff out like you guys.

hey, you are the customer and how ever you want you food is how they should give it to you. if they wanna get pissy, then don't go back!

i am sure they will accomodate you. with so many people being healthy these days, they won't even question or think twice about it.

have a nice nite out!

Kelly :D

Should be no problem. I've ordered it just like that a few times. I usually just state "I've had stomach surgery and can't eat much, I want a plain burger patty (with cheese) on a plate, NO sides, NO fixings" . If someone at the table orders fries I may mooch 2 or 3 of them too.

I order chicken breasts like this too - "Just a plain grilled chicken breast on a plate, no sides, no trimmings".

The other day I ordered a small cup of Beans and cheese at my favorite restaurant. It was a new waitress and bless her heart.....she brought me this giant Papa Bear bowl of Beans and cheese.

I must have had a funny look on my face cuz she immediately asked me if I was OK!

After I explained that I was on restricted intake due to surgery and 2 oz of food was about all I could handle, she corrected my order immediately.

I never worry about what others will think, especially restaurant staff.......I was a waitress for more than 15 years as a side job to supplement my income. I made fabulous tips cuz my customers were ALWAYS right, and if my boss didn't like that, I usually told them they must be in the wrong business and would they mind selling me their restaurant???? Worked like a charm.biggrin.gif

So be forthright and order whatever you like however you like it and the rest can go hang!!!!!!!

Keep us posted!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
