pre op LIQUIED DIET IS DRIVING ME CRAZY

Day 8 of pre op liquied diet, feeling so down and deprived I just dont know how much more i can take, I have been watching everyone at work eat all types of fast food and it smells so good. I try to take lunch at a diffrent timea but sometimes it doesnt work out that way and i have to sit in the same table with them while i drink Soup :(

I just keep telling myself a couple more days to go and i dont want to give up i made it this far. The temptations to cheat are so strooong!!!

Yes, that preop diet is a killer. Stay strong. You can do this! Yes, it is not easy, nothing worthwhile comes without cost. Think ahead - very shortly you will be on day 1 of a new you. Hang in there.

I know it's got to be really rough, especially smelling it on top of watching them eat. Can you go somewhere else? Maybe walking while you sip on a protein shake or broth? Sit in your car or a different room from them and read? Window shopping and making future plans of all the great smaller size clothes you will be in soon. Anything that can make you feel less deprived. Focus on why you're doing this. Keep your eye on the prize you are doing great!!!

I can't imagine how difficult it would have been being around people who are eating the things I'd love to have. Even TV commercials fuel the 4 to 6 p.m. difficult time I have. But you can do it. Think of all the health issue you are saving yourself with this little bit of misery. Think about the open heart surgery you may very well be avoiding by taking the weight off now. You're in the home stretch.

Personally I only wish my place, where they supplied my diet, would have let me pick the flavors. Or I wish I had tried some of them before. Because about 1/2 are okay, the other half terrible. I had some swill called a wild fruit mix and I don't know who in the world would have been able to have choked it down so that was a rough day. I find it almost disrespectful that this center of excellence didn't let people check off flavor suggestions on the sheet before out packages were packed up. But I guess they think it's not about helping in our success but in just seeing if we can meet the challenge.

Good luck. Really, you are doing great and it will be over soon.
