New from Illinois...going to Monterrey

Hi all!

I am scheduled for surgery on July 6 with Dr. Rumbaut. I would love to hear any advice or comments about Monterrey, the surgery, the doctors, etc...

So...I am 28, engaged, 5'3", highest weight 230, at 218 now. I hope to get at least get back to my college weight of 140 (fingers crossed).

I was always a bit of a yo-yoer but just 10-15 pound fluctuations. But I started to gain in grad school and then had a car accident in 2003. I had the typical lower back pain and gained about 40 pounds in the couple of months after (laying on the couch- trying not to move). Even though I am 99% recovered, I haven't been below 200 since):

HiYa.. I'm on the other side of the world ( Australia ) But I just thought I would come and say Hi and Welcome...

How exciting for you.. Not long left now untill your surgery date.. Hope it all goes really well for you ;)

Welcome and Congrats,

I too was in a car accident 2 years ago and after having disc removed from neck managed to put on 50 pounds, so it does happen.

You'll be losing soon enough. Also, congrats on your upcoming wedding. Your surgery will go great and you have a wonderful surgeon from what I've read on here about him. I too as a bunch of us are heading over to Monterrey in July so we'll all do this together.

Keep in touch,

Sherri

Sherri,

Thank you so much for your support! It would be great to share our Mexico experiences. I am leaving Monterrey on the 9th so maybe we will pass each other in the halls! Good luck to you.
