Post-op Chest or esophagus tightening...PAIN

I work for a weight loss surgery center and I have never heard of this happening, but my husband had the sleeve procedure done only 3 days ago and is complaining of severe pain as though his chest and/or esophagus is tightening. After surgery he did have to spend an extra night in the hospital due to not being able to keep ANYTHING down. Anyone have any similar symptoms?

I'm almost 6 weeks post-op and the hospital right now and having similar issues. I have a stricture and found out yesterday after a swallow test that I have narrowing in my esophagus.

I'm not sure what is normal post-op so I suggest calling the doctor to ask.

We were told it could be esophagus spasms, try warm drinks or icy, for some reason seemed to soothe the spasms. I preferred warm and my cousin loved popsicles.
