Road to "TWOterville"

Julie, you are so right, I need to not get on the scale. It is too late for this morning, but I am gonna lay off the scale till September 1st. I think my restriction is close to perfect, I am almost never hungry at all but I can eat good healthy food without pb'ing (just need to be cautious with chicken). I am gonna work my fill and stay off the scale and just live life this month, carefree of peoples expectations. And I will check in here on LBT to encourage others :)

OOh and on a fun note I put in extensions for the Rennesiance (sp) Fair. My hair went from short and sassy to half way down my back! I wouldn't want to keep it, it's just not me, but it will be fun to have period hair to go with my ren. clothes :)

I hope to be joining you soon! But I won't know till August when my husband put the scale back, hehe, I asked him to hide it.

Oh My Goodness, where is everyone? I know a lot of you moved into twoterville, but surely I'm not the last one here in tri cities. :omg:

It will be at least Sept 1 before I join you as I won't be weighing myself this month :huggie: Almost asked hubby for the scale back but I didn't.

I'm here!! I've been wondering what happened to the team too!

So, how's it going for you? I'm proud of you for giving up the scale for awhile. It is the hardest habit to break! My doc made me promise I wouldn't check and I didn't for the longest time, but now I can't stop checking each morning and it's driving me crazy. I think I need some of your willpower!!

Wahoo! Noticed yesterday morning that I have an extra 3-4 inches between my belly and the steering wheel :(

And LapBandit, it isn't willpower it's my husbands willingness to hide it, lol

I use my steering wheel as a measurement too! I'm kinda too far back in my seat now but I don't want to adjust it because I LOVE the feeling!!!Congrats and happy driving!!

I asked my hubby where the scale was today and he said he didn't remember. When i asked if he was lying to me he said yes, lol. He will not give in, yay :Banane27: So I pulled out the tape measure instead and since I last measured I've lost 2 more inches off of my waist and hips

Uggh, I hope so, went to the fair today and had kettle corn and a scoop of ice cream. But we had a lot of fun and did a lot of walking, so maybe i didn't do to much damage, but we have to live a little too :(

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. Congratulations all you new Twoterville citizens!!!

I had seemed to get stuck at 297 for the longest time and kept gaining and losing the same 2 pounds. Very frustrating and too close to the border for my comfort! Grrr!

But this week the scale seems to be cooperating again. Yipee! It is strange--My first fill was 3 weeks ago and just now seems to be really kicking in. Anyone else experience this sudden improvement in restriction? Maybe it is all in my head, but it is working, so I am happy! :(

Molly, I'm sure it's fine. You're right...a little splurge on special occasions keeps you feeling positive about your life. I don't think its realistic to be a perfect angel for the rest of our lives!

Welcome back Marcy! Congrats. Yeah, with this heat I really had bizarre restriction. One day I felt tight and the next wide open. It's weird, I really didn't expect the weather to affect it so much. But, when the air temp is over 100 degrees I guess your whole body reacts to it!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
