First Day of Pre-Op Diet.....

Well...day one of the pre-op diet has come and gone.

I cannot complain too much though, along with my 5 protein shakes, I am allowed one meal consisting of 5 ozs of protein (meat/cheese), 2 cups of veggies (non-starchy) and one serving of fat. Still...it is not a lot of food for a entire day!

Just have to stay focused and keep the FAITH.

Lisa,

Congratulations! We both got through day one of the preop! Mine started today, too. Although mine is just for one week and no meal. I'm doing clear liquids and 3-4 protein shakes. I would kill for just a BITE of something!

"Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...."

I am on day 9 of my pre op diet. I have 5 shakes a day and all of the clear liquids I can drink. It does get easier I promise and if you fall off of the diet get right back on.

Thanks for the encouragement. I did find that it got easier, although today I started feeling "sick" so I ate some chicken noodle soup. I figured it was mostly broth, right? :) But I did feel immensely better and I don't think I did myself any harm. I'm down 9 lbs so far with the preop diet. I noticed that your surgery is the same day as mine! Best of luck to us both!
