  2. Carly, The weight loss will slow down. Make sure you are moving your body and you are watching what is going in your body. The weight will come off ...it just never moves fast enough for any of us. I am 15 months post op and I am still fighting the battle. I refuse to loose... I did not come this far to give up now.
  3. Hey Guys, I am 15 months post op. Where are all my sleeve sisters? We have to support and share with each other how is the progress? It is not over until you say its over....If you have hit your 12 month post op and you are not at goal Do not give up.....I have been feeling so alone in my journey lately. I have gotten lazy about tracking my food and making a effort in what I eat. I want to personally thank cabernetqueen on YouTube for being a great source of information for me and has been my go to for a source of information. She has helped me realize that im not on my path i want to be and I can can turn it around its not over its not to late. I can not thank her enough for her words of wisdom during her journey. Thank you for your encouragement and your dedication to keep a record or your journey for the rest of us a reference and guide to your journey. I can not thank you ever enough. We all are on a Journey and we all need a guide.

    My Fitness Pal Question

For veggie and other recipes...check out theworldaccordingtoeggface.com Shelly has some amazing recipes that are sleeve friendly. She has had bypass surgery and looks amazing. As far as the MFP just ignore. MFP does not know that you have a tiny tummy and we eat way less than a "normal" tummy can hold...keep up the good work

    March Role Call!!

PurpleTulip, I follow Skinnytaste.com and theworldaccordingtoeggface.com Both of these ladies can cook. Since I have had my surgery I am always looking for new healthier recipes that I can feed the family with and feed myself. Gina at Skinnytaste has lots of holiday recipes out right now. I tried her sweetpotato casserole it was amazing and not soaking in sugar and butter. Who would have thought you could make sweetpotatoes healthier..lol If you have time check them out...I know you will love them!

    Inbetween sizes... *sighs*

Lissa, Since our bodies are changing so rapidly, I try to save where I can. I usually find my compression tops at Ross. You will find them around were the ladies underclothes are at. I found 2 compression tops for 5.99 that is a deal. I refuse to spend lots of $$ since I do not know how long I will actually fit into them, so I shop at Ross alot...lol If you do not have a Ross in your area check Marshalls too!
  7. Hey Guys, I have a question for everyone that has met their goal, how did you do it? I understand that the sleeve is only a tool and that is a huge part of our loss. I see lots of my sleeve brothers and sisters that have reached their goal in what I would consider record time. How are they doing it? Is this a calorie thing? Is it a workout that is working better than others. Sometimes I feel like this is a closely guarded secret. I know that my sleeve buddies are always happy to offer tips and suggestions on helping me get over this massive hump. I know that stalls come and go but I can not help but wonder if I am going to get over the hump. My doctor says that I only have a certain amount of time to get the weight off, so now I feel under the gun and I find myself feeling defeated. I don't want to be the one that is "flagged" as a failure here. I monitor my calories to 800 I eat my Protein first. I just started working out with a trainer. I have lost 70lbs in the last 7 months. I just wonder if this is it. Am I going to go any further? My friends tell me that it is just my body adjusting to the loss that I have already. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Welcome new sleeve sister. Take it easy and rest. Walking with help with the gas pain. The more you walk the faster they will let you out of the hospital.

    The Stall From Hell!

Thank you ladies that posted. We we feel a bit down we have to stick together. This is why I truly love this forum. The numbers do not lie. If we all stick together, we will overcome! Some days are truly better than others. I know that 70lbs is a huge loss and I would not be here without my sleeve. I have tried so many diets and put my body through some horrible things during my life. When you set back and truly think about it, this is the longest I have been able to consistently loose weight. I know you guys remember the old days. Loose 5 lbs on a diet, get frustrated the scale is not moving and totally binge and just start the diet over the next day....Or the famous line I will start again on Monday....Those days are over for us. No more giving up. The beautiful thing about the sleeve. It is truly a life change like any good diet is supposed to be. It just amazes me that I have hung in there this long..it totally blows my mind. So in the happiness of Friday....Lets love our sleeve today and put some pep in your step. We are so incredibly lucky that we were able to have the sleeve and we have some loss. There are plenty of sleevers that have not been approved for the surgery, or are patiently waiting all of the red tape to be on the losers bench...Love your bodies and where you are at today. I am so grateful for my doctor and my sleeve. Thank you guys for all of the wonderful encouragement that you have blessed me with.

Coops...Smile Doll...It will be okay...since we have lost weight our bodies fit into clothes all kinda crazy. If I wear pants that actually fit..I am sporting a muffin top. If I wear bottoms that do not put my muffin top on display, My legs are swimming in them..I have to tell you that I look like a school child that finally dressed them selves. So the magic here is compression .....I have found compression tops to scale back the sexy muffin top....lol Dont feel bad at all hang those babies on a hanger in your bathroom so that you can see them everyday...Pick that frown up...all of our bodies are doing crazy things....I try to find the humor when I can, this is what gets me through the day :banghead:
  12. Thanks for the feedback guys. I know most of us track our calories on MyFitness pal. I am honestly on that more than my facebook at this point. I guess today is just the day to question everything...lol Keep up the good work girls..Keep the info coming....this is awesome

    Slow weight loss

I am 7 months out also and I started at 240 and I am currently at 171 (as of this morning) I just want to cry sometimes. I am constantly worrying what I am doing wrong. I keep my calories right at 800 per day. I eat my protein first. I rarely cheat ( sweet toot, bread) I am just so frustrated. I have moved from a size 22 to a size 12...And yes that is good, but I would like to be a nice happy 8....I would like to be at least 150...I understand that I am almost there....I am fighting tooth and nail to get there....Do you guys have any suggestions....i am at the end of my rope and I do not want to throw in the towel yet...but I think that the level of frustration that I am at...this could be possible....lol

    The Stall From Hell!

I have a quick question for you guys...I am 7 months out and I am hovering at 70lb gone...that is a average of 10 lbs a month which is pretty good. I started at 240 and I am at 171 today. I am taking in 800 calories roughly and I am wondering if I am loosing slowly due to my calorie intake. I do limit carbs minus a halloween candy attack last night thank goodness it was just 1 fun size bar. So my question for you guys..What in the world am I doing wrong? Is it a calorie thing? I just started working out with a trainer at the gym on Monday, my body is killing me ...My activity level during the day is a desk job. Any suggestions to get the scale moving again would be great ....

    Where are my Flirty Thirties?

I have to tell you guys that this is the best thread on on the forum...the best thing about the 80's was the music...I will be 34 in December...I miss the loafers with the white socks...it seemed so stylish at the time...lol
  16. I so feel your pain. I am 7 months out and I am stuck at 68 pounds. I feel like I have failed. I am hoping that this is one long stall. I try to stay at 800 calories. I went to the doctor at my 6 month check up and he told me that now I am over 6 months, I have to work harder during my workouts. I do not understand this I read alot and some of the greatest losses are from people that are just walking??? This renders me clueless on what I am supposed to do. I do walk, but not on a regular basis. With a family and a full time job at the end of the day I am so tired all I want to do is relax with the family. I am sure that if I located a better way to relax ie exercise I would do much better. I am just so stinking frustrated at this point I would like to loose another 35 pounds or so. Any feed back would be a awesome gift....please any of you guys that our out farther on your journey please chime in...

    Checking In

My surgery was on 3/7 and so far I have lost 70lbs. I have another 30 or so to get to my goal. I hate stalls. I have been working so hard and I am trying not to get frustrated with the scale not moving. I have had a little chat with my scale and I threatened to Frisbee the thing right off of my balcony. I can not seem to stay in a good workout routine. That in it self is a work in progress. I have went from 240 to 172 so I am doing well. My 6 month check up my doctor wanted me to get into a "Normal" bmi. that is also a work in progress. I have noticed that I am a bit obsessed with my daily calorie log at my fitness pal and I find myself logging on to that more than facebook these days. Where are the other March sleevers?
  18. Good Morning all of my Sleeve family. I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know that today is my 7 month post op and I wanted to share some before and after with you. This ride has been a crazy one and I am grateful for this forum and all of the people that have given me support when I needed it. You are all family to me and I am so incredibly blessed to have the support and encouragement. So lets start with the stats... March 7 2011 I entered a cold hospital scared out of my mind and I was seriously having second thoughts at 245 pounds. Dr. David Kim came to meet with me in pre-op and assured me that he would take care of me. That was the last moment in my life as a obese person. I awoke from surgery and had a panic attack. I think that we all have a rocky start. This is when my new life began. October 7, 2011 7 months I am proud to say I am currently at 175 and still walking the vsg journey. My health is much better and my confidence in myself and my body image has changed considerably. I am currently wearing size 12 to size 10 jeans and walk with a bit of pep in my step...you guys know that walk I am talking about... So on with the photo whoring....

    The Tortoise and the Hare

Thank you so very much for posting today. I think in this Journey that we all get frustrated with our changing bodies. I totally think that your post needs to be pinned as we all go through this from time to time. Its so hard to look back from where we have come, epically when we are concentrating on where we are going in our sleeve journey. Whether you believe it or not you are a cheerleader fro the rest of us thank you for that.
