Any other tattooed sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if there are any other tattooed sleevers out there? Anyone get a tattoo to Celebrate the beginning or end of your journey? Tell me about it!

I love tattoo's and have 10 currently, but I'll be adding to that on Friday with a bird tattoo to on my arm to Celebrate the beginning of my journey and to help keep me focused down the road.

I'd love to hear from some other tattooed sleevers

I have 3 tatts... Nothing sleeve related.

I have the Chinese symbol for "wife" on the inside of my left wrist.

I have a heart with 3 flowers on my right ankle. And, on my right wrist I have a butterfly that has a cancer ribbon for it's body.

I want more! But, I'll wait until I reach goal!

Make sure you post pics of your new one!

I have only one tattoo on my side which Im planning on adding to very SOON... I love my tattoo because each flower represents a person in my family and the Cantonese is a translation of my name...

Im going to add two more flowers to represent my late Grandpa and my Grandma who is still with me as well as a soaring bird to represent the fact that I am always going to know that my Grandpa will be in the sky flying with me through my journey through my life... ( my grandpa was a pilot)

I LOVE tattoos when they have meaning .. and I will never regret my INK!!

I have thought about doing something Sleeve related but I dont know what i would do

I have 3 of them. None sleeve related and none on stretchy parts. I know I have pics of them. If I find them, I'll post them.

I have 4 of them but they were all pre-sleeve! I have a butterfly (ink and a needle at age 14) on my bottom, tribal art in a diamond shape on my lower back (tramp stamp - got it WAY before it was called that and before it was "cool" to have it there) I have tribal art on the back of my neck/top of my back that has a Gemini symbol in the middle of it for my daughter and then I have a teddybear holding a heart on my breast. I am very surprised that none of them have been distorted from weight gain or loss! I do want more but I haven't decided on what or where yet!

I have none yet (went to get one once and the artist anihalated my design!), I'd always thought I'd go for the inside of my wrist to minimise sagging, but latterly my thoughts are somewhere a little more hidden if I gain back any flat bits!

My design is the line drawing of an art deco poppy in just white ink so its really subtle. Its a memorial tattoo, so I kind of like the idea of it being pale and the suggestion of an image, like a residual memory, or ghost image.

Apparently it'd never work on my wrist as the sun would turn it yellow

Oh well, I will pluck up the courage once my Goal is in sight!

I have 4 (well 41/2, but I'll explain that). I have a cluster of shamrocks on my lower back that I got when I was 17 (eeek! regret that one!), I have the kanji symbol for friendship on my right foot, which I will be getting covered soon, as I got matching tattoos on both feet with my "twin" in my sorority, who I no longer speak to (ahh, to be young and dumb again), I have an orchid on my left foot, which covered the other kanji symbol, the orchid I got for my grandfather, who was a master green thumb and grew the most beautiful orchids up until the time lung cancer took his life, and I have a pink breast cancer ribbon on the back on my neck in honor of my aunt who is a complete warrior and kicked cancer's ass to the curb.

I will be getting a bird tattooed on my right shoulder after I get back from my surgery on March 1! Yesss.

I have an arch of purple/yellow flowers on my lower back. Absolutely love this one! The colors and definition are awesome.

I also have a shamrock on my right foot (can you say ouch!) ... I got it one year after my dad passed away. He has Irish ancestery and I love looking at my foot and thinking of my dad.

I've thought about doing something for my "new life" ... but not sure what it would be. Hmmmmm...

All of your tattoos sound so amazing and I love that most of them are very personal to you. Sleeveorbust your flowers are so pretty! I'd love to see more pictures of some great ink!

Well I'm bummed, my tattoo appt. had to be moved to next week due to a babysitting conflict for my little guy. But, it will still be great and I'm so excited.

My tattoos:

Butterfly on my inner left ankle on my 18th birthday

Cherries with "eternity" kanji on my outer left ankle 3 weeks after the first tattoo (addictive!)

A large star with a spiral pattern on my outer left ankle along with 4 other tiny stars randomly placed around my body.

A moon with stars and mist on top of my left foot

A large checkerboard star on the back of my right ankle

Two large pink lilies with a few small lily buds, a blue butterfly, some italian script, and heart shaped gemstone birthstones that is on my right lower ankle/foot (pic) This tattoo was my first Mother's day present last year and is my favorite.

Thanks for sharing your ink with me!

Also, I'd love to get a tattoo of the redhead pin up in my signature. I thought that might be a great goal tattoo. It would be quite large and probably on my back. But I love her so much, I think she's gorgeous and I think it would be neat to have a large tattoo that is beautiful and sexy when I reach goal.

On my 40th birthday I got a blue butterfly on my stomach. It covers my gallbladder scar that goes up and down.

I was just thinking the other day for my 50th in Dec, I want to get a heart on my back with my husband and 2 boys names in it.

I was just talking to my hubby about my next 2 tats!! I want a sleeve tattoo (not the VSG but a full tattoo that covers my whole left arm) once I reach goal. But I'll be getting a big Celtic cross in between my shoulder blades first.

What I have (and I'll post photos when I get home):

1. a Celtic circular design on the inside of my left wrist

2. a Celtic band around my right wrist with a shamrock in the inner portion of the wrist

3. My name, my sons name and Winnie the Pooh w/Tigger jumping on him under my belly button (my first tat at 17)

4. A seleton of a frog (my fav anphibian) w/Celtic tribal flares on either side of it (as a tramp stamp- also done before it was called that and before it was popular)

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
