I just wanted to say 'thanks' to everyone here for sharing their stories. I really appreciate your input, facts and opinions. I was looking for an alternative to the band since it has failed me and I was so happy to find this board. Although I chose the gastric plication, I have not felt belittled or intimidated by anyone for choosing a surgery that I felt was best for me. As some of you know, there are other boards where this can not be said. After seeing what happens on these other boards and how quickly things can go from supportive to down-right scary - it makes me truly appreciate the support I've found here.

Hi! Did you make it to the VSG-specific board at ObesityHealth? Their main boards are scary and ugly, but the VSG board (and the lightweight one) are just great 99% of the time. Once in awhile you'll get the odd #(*&@(# but that happens everywhere in life LOL.... you're right though, this place is wonderful!

I agree, this is an excellent place to visit for support and encouragement and down-right-positive attitudes. I haven't seen any other boards and didn't find this place until I was post op... but I am glad I did, better late than never!

To be honest, there are times when I can't really express how I feel to others in my physical world 'cos they haven't had the sleeve, they weren't morbidly obese... here however, there are a lot of like minded peeps who know exactly where I am coming from!
