Scale Recommendation

Recommended Posts

I need to get a bathroom scale for this adventure! I looked at Target.com and saw that there were LCD scales, old-fashioned scales with the needle, scales that measure hydration, body fat, etc. Does anybody have any recommendations for scales that have been accurate and useful?

I got my scale from Wal-Mart. It measures BMI, Weight, Hydration, and keeps the last 5 weigh in on record. So when I weigh in it will show my current weight and the flash + or - X pounds. It was about 26 bucks.

I bit the bullet and bought a Detecto scale like at the doctor's office. It's also known as a balance beam scale. It cost me $150 online, but worth it to me. I've never found a bathroom floor scale that was really accurate.

I bought a scale at Walmart that records your weight, goal weight and BMI. It tells me everyday how much I have gained and or lost and how much more I have to lose to get to my goal weight. It records up to 4 users. I love it. It cost under $20.

I wouldn't bother with a fancy bodyfat/hydration scale, they are not very accurate. I've heard people say their bodyfat measurements can fluctuate by 10% day to day. Save the $ and get something simple. I have a plain ol' dial scale, it works fine. It would've been nicer to have a digital one, but I make do with the dial. Check your local Goodwill or Salvation Army store, they often have scales for sale for like $2.

I had a scale, but it drove me nuts. It was digital, but you had to try several times before you got your weight without it saying err.

Kohl's has several different brands on sale. I bought one today and LOVE it! It is a Taylor, digital (but you can stand on it and get your weight, instead of taking it to turn it on and then stepping on it), and it weights in 2 tenth increments. It was originally $60 and was on sale for $29. There were other's that I thought about but finally had to make a choice.

Hope this helps!

I think ThatDudesMom and I must have the same exact scale. It's pretty accurate too because it lines up well with my Wii and what I weigh at my Dr's office. My Dr's office has the same kind of scale that Sr. Sleever mentioned.

It doesn't have any of that fancy stuff like weighted fat % or that kinda stuff. Just weighs me, which is fine.

I got mine at Target. I don't remember what I paid but I know it wasn't more than $30 -- good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
