What the heck just happend to me?

Recommended Posts

Im 9 days post op and the same protien shake day after day started to get tiring. I decided to spice it up a little by adding a little peanutbutter to the blender (as ive been told that was ok to do) anyways about 5-10 min after drinking my shake I started to get really nauseous and dizzy i almost passed out walking to the bedroom to lay down. After laying down for about 20 min or so i got back up and felt fine. Did I just experience dumping? I dont know what else could explain it what would have made me dump? The peanutbutter itself?

Dumping does not necessarily involve the bathroom, although for me, it does eventually. It was probably the fat in the Peanut Butter.

I get it when I eat something sweet and full of fat. I get nauseous, dizzy, sweaty, and eventually diarrhea. It does not happen very often anymore, now that I am so far out from surgery, but in the beginning, it happened when I ate something full of fat.

months ago I posted here about feeling "stoned" from peanut butter; the first time I had Peanut Butter was about 2 months post op. I slowly licked a tablespoon of peanut butter by itself and by the time I was done I felt like I had just knocked back shot of something. Didn't get sick but could've taken a niiice nap. =)

I did the same thing...probably at about the same time, 9-10 days post-op and tried the Peanut Butter in the shake thing and I don't remember exactly the symptoms but I know I didn't feel good after drinking it. And I used an all-natural Peanut Butter (trying to be careful about "extra" hidden ingredients) and it was basically peanut butter made from peanuts and nothing else.

I can tell you that I didn't try it again and I haven't had peanut butter since.

If you want the wonderful taste of Peanut Butter without the fat and calories, try PB2. Its a powdered peanut butter. And unlike some of the other "fake" peanut butters, this is made from actual peanuts that are pressed and ground into a powder. The process takes all the fat and oils out of it. And if you want actual peanut butter than you can spread, just add a couple tablespoons of Water (or milk or skim milk or almond milk) to the powder and mix it up. Yummy!!

I was sleeved on November 10th and I wasn't even allowed to have Peanut Butter in my diet until two days ago. I do not know the reason why, but I am imagining its because of the heaviness and the oils in Peanut Butter. Be careful adding items that haven't been approved yet..especially that recent since your surgery.

Good luck!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
