I was just wondering if anyone else has Empire BCBS? Several BCBS companies changed their policy toward VSG, but mine hasn't. I'm just starting this process (just turned in my ins packet to my dr's office) and wondered if anyone had any experience dealing with Empire BCBS (mine is a select ppo). Thanks SO much!

Do you happen to know if this is in effect for ALL Empire BCBS members? We have Empire, but I called them today to find out if sleeve is covered. The girl I talked to told me that it's not on my plan anywhere, but to have the doctor submit it for prior authorization because my plan is based off of medical necessity. She told me that doesn't mean they'll pay for it if it's medically necessary, but that they might.

My Drs. office actually filed on March 25th, after I met with the nurse practicioner. I heard today (March 30) that Empire BCBS has approved me!!!!
