Anyone with Surg between Nov 13th and Nov 18th

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow sleevers - just found this group and wanted to jump in. I was sleeved in Tucson Az on Nov 17th. I went back to work on Monday and am also feeling fairly sluggish. Got to start with an egg last night - sure felt good to eat something "solid" after liquids for so long. I am looking forward to sharing my journey with you all! Beth

Welcome to the group Beth. I was also sleeved on the 17th and returned to work on Wednesday. Although I have to admit, I didn't do much. Just felt tired and sluggish! I did take the B12 this am and I am hoping that I will start seeing some energy come back!

Hey there Sassy...I was sleeved on Nov. 18th & am feeling much better now! I am finally able to eat without pain & can just about eat anything I want...just NOT much of it! :) I am having to take Nexium for the acid in my stomach, but other than that I am good. I will be starting Curves program on Jan. 3rd & so far I've lost 30 pounds. I LOVE my sleeve! Hope all is goin well with you. Keep us posted!

Hi Rhonda! I'm so glad this thread is still active.

That is so great that you've already got your workout plan together and congrats on your weight loss!! Eating is getting much easier for me too but I'm still learning exactly what I can and can't handle. Finally had scrambled eggs this morning...oh my were they yummy!! I was even able to get some down with hot sauce...I'm Mexican and having to wait another two or four weeks to add spicy food is a KILLER! My doc has me on Prevacid for four months too. How long will you have to take Nexium?

Happy 2011, everyone! :grouphug:

Sassy,

Not real sure how long I'll have to stay on the Nexium but I would rather stay on it permanently than to go thru the pain of trying to eat without it. It's almost as though I'm scared to get off of it.

I LOVE mexican food & that's been the hardest thing of all is to avoid spicy foods and I've MISSED chips & salsa like you wouldn't believe! I am hoping in a few more weeks I'll be able to eat a little bit of Mexican food & be happy! :)

Hope you continue to do well. Let me know if I can help in any way!

Rhonda

I will DEFINITELY reach out. Just wanted you to know that you've already motivated me...I've been checking out the fitness classes offered at my local park district and found one that's giving a free week of Jazzercise the first week of January. WooHoo! I'll be going to that and seeing what else I can fit into my schedule.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
