96 candy bars

Recommended Posts

....have been in my house, UNTOUCHED, for nearly a month. Odds of this happening before the surgery? ZERO.

I can relate to that! I bought a bag of halloween candy and even though its open (i gave the grandkids some) I haven't touched it. It feels so good to have that power!

Love it!!!! However, even with my sleeve, I think I would have touched, smelled, put down, walked away, come back, touched, smelled ... and then finally given in & had a little taste.

Good for you!

 Good for you girlie!! LOL

I just don't trust myself enough yet though, so I won't buy the candy until it's actually Halloween. ;) Not only that, the last kid is gonna get a gold mine!!

Haha, I didn't actually buy them - my boyfriend got them as a gag gift when he left his previous job. He's not overweight, but is a major junk food lover, so I confiscated them from him and am keeping them in my house and doling out one candy bar at a time. I did buy myself some dark chocolate and have been enjoying it responsibly - 2 squares a day once every few days. I find milk chocolate too sweet for me these days - and I used to dislike dark chocolate!

I purchased snickers for the office today. I ate one mini and immediately said yuck. Made me super high from the sugar and it just didnt taste the same. It was AWESOME!! I no longer need candy!! =)

(Happy dance)

I also had a mini ice cream haagan daz coffee ice cream yesterday. All I tasted was the sugar. Those are off my list too.

Its so great to be able to say.. NO, I don't need them. NO, I don't want them. And truly mean it.

Have a great day ladies and gents!

I too have a candy-related story -- the other day my son was eating Gummy bears and I said, hey just give me one -- he kind of looked at me and gave it to me -- it was horrible!! Like eating Kool-aid but without Water -- yuck!!! And I used to LOVE gummy bears. no more gummies for me!! :D

Congratulations on the chocolate -- I'm not confident in myself enough to have it in the house. If there were any Achilles heel I might have, it would be chocolate. So, the fact that you haven't touched them makes you a goddess in my eyes!

I will have a frozen mini Reeses PBC in my freezer for weeks. Before my surgery they never even made it into the freezer!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
