The Official What You Will Need For Your Upcoming Weightloss Surgery Thread!

I was told that it basically depends on the border customs agent, obviously if you have your passport that is your best bet. If you don't have it they the customs agent may not say anything or he might send you to a secondary inspection and they make you wait even more until they check their system and verify that you are a US citizen.

My surgery is in less than 2 weeks. I'm gonna have to go off of Omars statement at this time and hope for the best.

I am not sure if anyone mentioned Biotene to keep your mouth moist or not but Biotene is my suggestion. I read that on another thread and went right out and got myself some. :-)

Just ordered what my hubby skeptically referred to as my "medicinal moose" from http://teddy-tech.com/ a bargain for the so-called Bari buddy bear :) hope it helps with the coughing pain, in any case I just got another snuggle buddy for bedtime ;)

Great thread! I'm getting sleeved on Thursday, the 9th, and have been contemplating what to take.

I took and used:-

Pjs

Slippers

Book

Glasses for reading

Phone and charger

Cottonwool and cleanser

Night cream

Toothpaste and toothbrush

Deodorant

Robe

Body pillow

Triangle pillow

Baby wipes

Vaseline for my lips

hair brush

Socks

I know there isn’t enough pillows nor can you get enough to put on your sides for support while you sleep learnt that from the gall bladder op so I brought my own so all I did was slight movements adjust the bed a bit and I was comfy.

Thing I didn’t bring that my sister had to bring me was a fan!

So hot in there I asked for one and they said sorry we don’t have any so one was brought in for me to keep me cool.

Things I took and didn’t need:-

Cpap machine (told me to hold off using it for as long as possible)

Laptop (couldn’t logon couldn’t get the dongal to register when my sis bought me one)

Shampoo

Conditioner

Body wash (wasn’t allowed to shower but was offered a bed bath lol used baby wipes!)

My surgery is the 12th of this month and I do appreciate the list.. found a few things I hadn't thought of... I am going in a sundress and flip flops... so no worries there... I have Kindle/Nook software on my phone and a headset so between some good books and Vivaldi's Four Seasons.. I might get some rest LOL

Hello everyone, this is my first visit to the site. I already feel better just reading all the pre op suggestions. My nerves are better and I know this sounds weird but I always felt embarrassed talking about it with everyone but not you guys!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
