  6. I had it as well and my doctor explained it as the mesh they used to repair the muscle in that area. He told me it could last up to 8 weeks. It slowly but surely gets better. I think mine was gone completely by week 3.
  7. Hmmm that is a possibility. I have another post op in November I am surely going to ask. I was actually thinking of calling up there and speaking to the nurse and see what she says. I love Dr. Kim he has a great staff and much more support in comparison to what I had in the past with my last doc and lapband.
  8. Thanks for the inout ya'll. I am going to take some chicken cubes, eggs and such with me and see if that helps. I tried a protein shake this morning and while it staved off the hunger a little longer than usual it didn't quite do the trick. *Fingers crossed*

  14. P.S. Cute Boston!! I have one too and they are the greatest!!
  15. I am still losing as well but I am afraid I will stall my progress if I am not careful. Are you eating more frequent small meals to try and curb the hunger?

  17. So I am about two and half months post op and can eat regular food which I have been and have had no problems. I eat and I swear I am hungry again in an hour or two. I had read on other forums that say the hunger hormone is cut out when they do the sleeve but I am not sure I buy that. I am certain this is hunger pangs and not just mind hunger and I am trying not to "graze" on junk. I am sooooo frustrated and feel like I am eating way more than I should. In addition to this issue, I feel like when I do eat I am eating too much. I probably ought to measure it to be certain but if I were to guess I would say I am probably eating about 1 cup of food at a sitting. Is anyone else having this problem with hunger?? Any input?

  22. Not to sound rude but when did a psychologist become qualified to say what is best for you? That seems a bit out of line in my opinion. I always thought the point of the psychologist was to recommend to the doctor that you were mentally stable enough for the surgery, not which he thinks you should do. Me personally, I would go with what the actual doctors thinks is best and what you feel is best for you. There is a lot to weigh when it comes to Bypass. I have a few girlfriends who have had the bypass and they have been through a lot and deal with a range of different issues. I say all of this to say, make sure you do your research, weigh the pro's and con's for both, and then ultimately do what you and your doctor feel is best for you and your situation.

  24. I have had the same issue. The pain was really bad after surgery and now it has its good and bad days. The doctor told me this is from the mesh that was used to repair the muscle. That apparently is the side they did a lot of work. For me it was a liver biopsy, port site and band removal and stomach removal. It does get better with time and on the days it bothers me I take some liquid tylenol and I am good to go.
  25. When I was considering the lapband I had a co worker tell me if I would just skip dessert I would be fine. I wanted to choke her skinny a**!! LOL Yes, that is the only problem I have..dessert! LOL
  26. Depending on what I eat, probably around 5 to 700. Not really certain but I am 19 days out and on mushies and I have had some soups from commercial restuarants that I have pureed and I am sure are not the lowest calorie wise. Really hard to tell.
  27. I was good to go by week two.
