Allow me to introduce myself...

Hi folks,

My name is Dr. Trace Curry, and I'm a bariatric surgeon in Cincinnati. I have a wierd obsession with helping band patients do well, so I thought I might hang out here on the complications forum. I don't want to intrude on patients' space or anything, so I won't read any of the other forums, just this one.

If anyone needs advice feel free to post here, preferrably with "Dr. C" in the title so I know to read the message. Or, if it's something you don't want posted publicly you can email to bandsterdoc@yahoo.com

Obviously, I can handle emergencies so don't post a message saying "Dr. C I'm dying--please answer this post within 2 minutes or I'm a gonner!" but I will try to check posts here once or twice day.

Nice to meet you all!

Dr. C

Yes, I tell people I'm a bluegrass musician who dabbles in surgery! I play the mandolin and fiddle. The website for our band is www.grasstains.com

Hi Dr. C.

I have my surgery July 10th, and my first appt with you 4 weeks later. I just wanted to Thank you again for taking me and Ive heard sooooo many good things about you and your office it the tops. Looking so forward to meeting you.

One last thing, I heard you play the banjo and other instruments. My dad had a fit. He played some years ago with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs when I was young at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tn. He said boy, I wish I could go with you on your first appt and take my banjo. His name is Joe so everyone calls him BanjoJoe.

Just thought it was funny.

Your new patient,

Sherri Smith

I proctored with the esteemed Dr. Jeff Allen from Lousiville, Kentucky. I don't know any of the Mexican docs personally but have done a lot of fills on Dr. Kuri's patients (we call him Dr. C with a K) and they all have had very good experiences.

Good luck,

Dr. C, what was your process for learning the lap band procedure? Who did you proctor with? Have any experience with the Mexico docs?
