I think its cuz being GLBT has so little to do with our journey on this site. I know for me, this thread is an afterthought. Im usually looking at others more specific to the surgery. But it's nice to pop in here from time to time and see how everyone here is doing.

LH - I was sleeved on the 17th. Wishing you a good postop appointment! I get to move to soft foods on Friday. I'm so excited! The place that I had my sleeve done has a different protocol of advancement from what I've seen others do. I've had great results thus far so I guess they know what they are doing. Keep us posted! :-)

Hey MiShell, How is postop going for you?

Going well. One more week of soft foods then I get to try some other options. Of course, it never seems to go as fast as we would like. It seems like the last 3 weeks have been moving slower than a stoned snail!!! I have had moments of, "holy crap, what have I done." But I know that will pass! I'm currently at my first day back to work and no pain, no problems!

That's great to hear. I just started soft foods yesterday. I'm oh so happy to be moving on to something new. Glad to hear no more pain. When did you have yours done? I'm was sleeved on 12/17 and I'm pain free and no major complaints other then food boredom! Haha. Did you do okay at work with the new diet?

Surgery was on 12/14. No pain past the hospital, think I took 1 dose of pain meds when I got home, and that was only because I was scared! No physical probs at all. My only complaint is the slight change of taste and feel of food and liquids going down, but at less than 3 weeks out, what did I expect?? I'm sure a year from now I'll look back and not even remember my petty little issues. Work has been fine, but I have it easy at work (at a desk), so I can do pretty much whatever I need, whenever I need to.

Have you experimented at all with food, or are you just staying with a few things? Ya gotta branch out, be crazy, put hot sauce on your scrambled egg :)

Mishell, I've been very inventive lately. I've tried many spices and the flavored syrups have been great! I wish you all the best this next week!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
