Liquid Torture, I mean diet...

Recommended Posts

Ahh thanks Erika! I appreciate your kind words! :) I am getting closer one day at a time, I really can't believe the surgery is on Monday. Time flies. The process from approval to the day of, took almost one year. I am doing great. The diet doesn't really bother me anymore. I get a little growly before dinner at 6:00pm but we have been having Soup when we get home and that really helps. Sooo if I don't pop on before hand see you all on the flip side... oh and move over I am dancing on the bench! LOL :)

I'm right there with you ... started liquids on 8/30 and surgery is 9/13 -- down 15.5 lbs so far! You can do this! I can do this! it was really hard at first but it is getting easier. I went to the grocery store today and most of the food didn't even look appetizing - crazy?!?

Good Luck!

I'm there too... Day 4 of hungryhungryhungry. I'm lucky because I get to do a combo diet the first week-- liquid breakfast/lunch and a solid lowcal dinner. Next week is going to be so tough though, since it'll be 100% liquid. Hang in there! I've lost 7lbs. so far, that's the only thing keeping me going. ugh.

Hi Tracey,

So glad to see another Orlando person, not many of us that I have seen. Where are you having your surgery and who is your Dr. I am having surgery 9-8, I didn't plan on Labor Day either, liquids on the grill??

Hey ladies! I'm in Orlando, too! Well, technically Oviedo, but only because I live on the other side of the Orange County line :)

Welcome Fleur De Lis, Who is doing your surgery?

I was sleeved on The 15th by Dr Keith Kim at Celebration Hospital. I feel great today. Been walking and getting my fluids in. Tomorrow I start pureed for a week then soft foods for two weeks. Hardly no pain after 24 hours. Just a bit sore like bruised feeling and gassy. And I cannot take the gas X it actually made me sick. Ever ablt to sleep on my side with a pillow proppeb under my belly.

A friend turned me on to Snow Cone places that had sugar free flavors. The place near me had 4 aweful tasing SF flavors, but the one near her had around 20 SF flavors. Grape is growing on me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
