I have decided on VSG but wonder if it is the tool I will need. I am 39 y/o, 310 lbs, 5'7", BMI 49ish. I have DM2, HTN, asthma (with freq exacerbations due to weight, necessitating prednisone). I lose weight easily, but I have problems keeping it off. My goal is to lose 150 lbs minimally; 170 lbs would be better.
My problem is stress eating, portion control, and head hunger. Can I possibly succeed with VSG only? That really is my WLS of choice. I want to be sure I am choosing the best tool for long term success.
Any advice would be appreciated.
