Hey everyone, it's been a while since I have been on here. I've been so busy lately. July 17,07 was my 1 year mark since being banded. I think I'm on the right track. I've had my plateaus where the scale wouldn't budge for a couple of months, and then wham, 20 lbs gone the next month. How strange, not even doing anything different.I'm down to 168 lbs. Yea! I have lost 78lbs total, and I am very pleased. I'm soooo happy for everyone else with their success on their weight loss also. It sounds like were all reaching our goals and have worked hard this past year. Congrats Congrats, give yourselves a big pat on the back, because we deserve it. Next year we'll all be sunbathing in our itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikinis LOL. Some of you probrably already are. Take care everyone.

Okay okay I am convinced that I must exercise. SO as of tomorrow I will get on the bike and start exercising. Maybe that will help with my blood sugars as well. I want to lose some weight. I will let you all know how it goes. I sure ddo need the accountability for my exercising so I will report in tomorrow night. Thanks for motivating me.

Hi Cris

I was banded 7/17/07 - You are now at the weight that i am striving for.

I know I will do it... You are proof that it can be done

Hey IndioGirl, I know you will do it too! Just look how far you have come already. You will reach your goal just like I will reach mine. I absolutely believe that for sure.

Well, Kari, today is our Bandiversary!! Happy Bandiversary to us!! One year ago today, you were in Houston and I was in Mexico being banded. YAYYYYY!!!! I was hoping to have another 10 lbs. off by this day and it didn't happen, but that was all up to choices and I didn't choose wisely. So, now it's the beginning of our second year and I have a ways to go and I want to reach goal (even if I'm not sure what the exact goal is). You are doing great with the exercise and I'm sorry that I missed you last night!! I'm bringing my mom home today from rehab (still in MI) and will try and check in later if she's not on the computer. I have some high school friends in town, so I may go out with them, too. We will catch up eventually...lol!!

Everyone else: Ya'll are doing FABULOUS!!!

:whoo::whoo:Happy Bandiversary to everyone!!! Mine was on July 26, 2006. I started off at 290lbs...as of today I am 147lbs....7lbs to go to my goal weight!!! I am happy for all the July Bandsters. Keep up the good work...everyday is a challenge!

Hey guys guess what I found out the other day. My hubby and I were talking about my blood sugars. You see back in March my sugars were the best it has ever been. Last month I got another test (not fasting) and it was as high as it has ever been. So hubby and I were thinking of anything different I did in those months that could have brought it up. We finally remembered that I got a new meter around that time. So I found my old meter and low and behold my sugars are good on that machine. So all this time I think it was my meter that has been reading high and not me. I am going to the doctor on Wed. and I plan on taking both of the meters and getting them checked out. I hope that is the reason my sugars are up and not something that I am doing. I will let you all know when I find out.

I hope all of you are doing well and ready for a new week. I haven't exercised yet but I will tomorrow when things get back to normal. I will check in later. LOve you all. HUgs

AHH i need a push back to the gym! I've been distracted by the new guy I am seeing, so I guess I'm still exercising (haha) but I'm not going to the gym every day! Ok, well now that I've said it, and awknowledged it, maybe I'll change it... Ok, good job everyone once again- Happy Bandiversary Month!!

Ok Leona, ((NUDGE)) Im giving you a push lol. Get back to the gym, I don't know if this is true but, I think when you are falling in love or just in lust with a new beau.. those brain chemicals help to make working out more productive lol. And this I know for sure.. the better shape your in.. the better orgasms are lol. Sorry if thats tmi lol but its just truth. lol Good luck!! Ill be watching to see if you post that you are back on track!!!

Hello everyone!

I'd love to hear from everyone banded in July 06 about where your fill is after one year.

I have the 4.0 max band and I am at 3.0ccs. I'd love to know where you are after one year.

Thanks in advance.

LoL KARIK!!!! You crack me up! I know what you mean though... I went back to the gym and I can finally see myself as achieving my goal... I don't know about the whole "love" thing but I'm def in LUST! haha I can't believe how much stuff I did last night at the gym- lifting weights squats (great for the inner thigh..haha) and over 150 situps with weighted balls and bars. I spent and hour and a half and I can really see results now... My arms are FIRMING! YESSSSSSS my thighs are tighter! YESSS and yes my O's are better! TRIPLE YES!!! haha ok hope that wasnt tmi either, but it's SO true.

Oh when I missed the gym for 3 days, I got depressed... so uh oh... I can proudly say... I'M ADDICTED TO THE GYM! Finally FREAKING time!

ooo I can't wait to go back... I'm itching for it! I also can't wait to see Matt again, but I think I'm not seeing him again til Thursday :D well, at least I won't be distracted away from the gym ! woohoo!

GOOD FIND, BETH!!! I know that must have been frustrating... how did it turn out at the doctor's?

Oh and Paulax... I'm also at 3ccs in a 4cc and could get some more if a fill didnt cost me 2500!!!!! I'm waiting til I get back to NYC and join NY Pres... Hospitals Lapband Clinic... its $499 to join it and $199 per fill after that... great office care, and if I have any problems, they know my history!

HUGS TO MY JULY BANDSTERS... its the last day of our 1 year bandiversary month!!!

Oh and this guy I was seeing last year (just a few times) is getting lapband on Aug 6th so wish him luck!

Well guys here is the update. I called the company that makes my meter that I use to take my bllod sugar and she told me that the old meter that I was using to compare with the new one is out of date so it should have been lower. Bummer. But she did tell me that the strips that I am using might be bad so she mailed me some new one and low and behold my sugar levels are lower. She is also going to send me a new meter to replace that old one so I should have current readings from now on. My doctor told me today that my numbers are not bad enough to worry about yet and hopefully we can get them lower with diet and exercise (which I haven't done any yet). But I have been helping my mom get her house fixed up and have been working hard helping her. I have been really sore at the end of the day so I figured I am getting some kind of exercise. I am going to start using the bike soon. She did tell me that I need to eat real food and not protein bars and fruit juice. I hope that I can do that. I don't handle real food very well but I need to try so I can lose weight so I am going to try. Well gotta go for now. I write later. Love you all. Hugs

Hi guys,

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Trying to get this house sold and our new one done and it's exhausting. My little grandson is due in 6 weeks, can't wait for that.

Current fill is 2.90 in the 4cc's 9.75cm lowprofile mini port, I forgot who was asking but I've been banded one year and lost 80 pounds and have 40 more to go.

Leona, I just got a year membership at a new gym that just opened up and it came with one month free tanning and one month with a personal trainer and I'm petrified. I've not been to a gym in 20 years, I'm 43 and still overweight and I'm scared they will ask me to do things I can't do and I still have the ruptured discs in my lower back that give me problems, my question is, what in the hell do I do when I get there.lol.

I'm going today for the first time, and I'm scared to death. Any advice.

After a 3month plateau, I finally started losing again and have been losing really well and I figured the gym would help because the only exercise I'm doing since being banded is the treadmill.

I dont' want to walk in and everyone be in those little suits with legins, I know so 80's, and everyone a size 0, and I'm in 16's and walk in and get laughed at and can't do anything they tell me to do.

Hope everyone is a big loser, lol. Leona, you look awesome by the way. I hope the next 40 pounds comes off this year. I went to see Dr. Curry for a very slight fill last week and he said I was right on schedule losing the 80 pounds this year so maybe I'll get there.

Love you guys,

Hugs,

Beachgirl....

re: the gym: DON'T be scared of it... I prefer to laugh when it hurts... just remember that the first 2 workouts are the hardest and then, well then, you start to crave it and the pain melts into RESULTS! Just be yourself in the gym, you don't need to impress the people at the gym- you are doing this for you, and they have nothing to do with you! It's amazing what happens when you start thinking and doing for YOU. and I know YOU can do it... Just don't go and think you can automatically lift 50 pounds, take it slow and build up the reps and weights. When I first started with this regime I could only do 3 push-ups in a row and 20 sit-ups. Three weeks later I can do 150 situps (and that's weighted) and 8 push-ups in a row (but 25 total). It's amazing how fast your body will take on the challenge if you let it! So you can do it, just believe in yourself and screw everyone else! I can't believe you lost 80 pounds this year! Great job! I can't wait to say 80 lbs... I'm getting close, but I'm not there yet. I just can't wait to get below 200! 6 pounds to go!

Oh and make sure to tell them about your back- if it hurts really badly there are other exercise options!

When I go to gym, most people are in some sort of sweats, I haven't seen leggin's in FOREVER (well, since the 80's) so don't worry, be comfortable and scope out the scene. Remember the first session is purposefully really hard so the trainer will see where you are and where they can take you in the next few weeks.

Congrats on taking the next step! It's more like a leap and you will feel amazing doing it! Just don't forget the protein before and after working out and the water!
