Finally sleeved on 5/11

Recommended Posts

Yea, I finally got sleeved on Tuesday. The first day home was awful but every day has been a little bit easier. I was told I had the glue on my incisions but found when I took the bandages off there were staples! I guess I'll get those out in my one week post -op.

Thanks everybody!

Goodlife, I know I'm not getting enough fluids. I'm really trying and it's getting better. Yesterday I got 35 grams of Protein and that was day 5. I'm just finding that any of the ready to drink Proteins I just can't stand. If it's powder and I mix it then it's better. I'm supposed to be getting 40 grams of protein and 48oz of Fluid. The closest I've gotten is 30 oz of fluid.

But I'm walking so much my neighbors must think I am crazy!

Coach: my neighbors finally got to know me. LOL honestly, I walked so much I met so many neighbors, it is a good thing.

You will do fine. sorry to hear about the staples. I would not have liked that!

That is minor, I sure there was a good reason.

Enjoy your journey!

I am only a few days post op but this is my recipe for Protein that seems to work really well. Red bottle Isopure put in a bottle I bought at VONS that was big enough for ice cubes. Mixed with a 1/3cup motts apple juice and Water, or depending on mood or tolerance for sweets, Vitamin water. Shaken really well makes the mix cold and the ISOPURE kinda disappear. I have been home 2 full days and finished 2 full 40g bottles of "ISOPUKE". anyways I thought I would let you know if you wanted to try.

Thank you all so much! Today's almost a week and I'm feeling good. I've discovered that the Isopure, which I couldn't stand before surgery, I can drink now. Yesterday got closer to my Protein amount and today I think I might make it.

Phatcurves, thanks for that idea. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
