I wonder if I am on track

I know people say not to compare yourself to others but I really seem to be falling behind everyone else's wieight loss. I was sleeved on Dec 29 and weighed in that day at 218. I weigh about 186 now. I seem to loose a lb or 2 then it may be another week or longer before I lose any more. My dr said I would not lose as fast as others because of a lower bmi but goodness. Others that need to lose about the same amt of wt sure seem to be ahead of me.

Remember, slow and steady wins the race! I never thought I was losing all that much, just a pound or two here and there. At some points I just stop. Then, all of a sudden, I will lose 5 lbs. I just keep eating right, getting in my exercise, and taking my vitamins and protein. When I was 2 months out, I had only lost a little more than 40 lbs (I started at 302!). At 8 1/2 months out, I have now lost 100 lbs. I know people who have lost faster and slower, but I am extremely happy that I am where I am. Keep up the great work, your body will work in its own way and you will soon be at your goal!

Your doctor is quite right, those with higher BMI's and more weight to lose will lose more than those with lower BMI's and less weight to lose. . .don't be discouraged, like the previous post said, "slow and steady wins the race" You don't want to lose too fast. . . yes I lost lots of weight in the first 7 weeks, but now it's slowed down to a screeching halt. . . but i'm not frustrated. . at least i'm not weighing 332 anymore and that makes me happy. . . so now that i'm in the 270's ( I don't weigh myself, only at doctor appts) i'm a happy camper and to me it's a whatever progress from here on out now . I look good and I feel good, im into 1 XL's from 4XL, so if the weight wants to come off good for it, if not, good for it too. . . i'm doing what i'm supposed to and that is all that counts. . . i've never weighed less then 250 (I wear size 14/16 at that weight), so if i lose that 20 extra pounds horray for me, if I lose more, we'll deal with it. . . good luck on your journey ! :001_smile:

Deb, I think you are right on track for YOU! We are probably close to losing the same weight. I'm losing very slow, but I know it's not because I'm doing things wrong. I'm doing everything right. I know my age has something to do with it. Our bodies are going to lose at the rate we are suppose to. Just keep doing the right things and eventually it will come off. Don't get discouraged. :biggrin0:
