Veteran Sleevers Speakup Plz

I am almost 4 weeks out. Even when I sip on Water, etc., eat my two ounces very slowly, my stomach growls & aches. I would love to take a good drink of water, not kill a whole glass but a good decent swallow. I dread every sip and bite as I know my tummy is going to let me know it just doesn't like it. I know this is temporary and will get better. :crying: But...

How far out before a VSG patient can take a bite of food rather than a nibble. How about a good swallow of liquid instead of just sips?:ohmy:

Thanks in advance... :wink0:

Hi Loser (sleeve-twin)!

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing these discomforts. Although I drank too fast one day last week, and had to vomit it back up, pronto... No other problems with drinking nor eating thus far (fingers crossed). I have a theory on MY experience thus far... and that it my having had the band before, perhaps my old "band habits" of slow and steady, and such... have kicked back in? I can't explain it. I will say the one thing that has been back for me the last two days is HUNGER. I can't figure it out... It's really bugging me. I didn't have my Protein right away in the morning the last couple of days, which is the only thing I can think would be the reason? I'm going to start my day with 35 grams of protein (Jay Robb shake) tomorrow morning, and see how that affects my day.

If you need to vent or talk, I'm here for you, bro! If you want to email me a PM or talk on the phone, let me know.

Hang in there! :):smile::smile:

Loser and PNW, I'm so sorry you're both feeling poorly. It sounds like quite a humbling experience.

PNW, I'm also 8 days out. I don't get to advance to mashed potatoes or potato soup for at least another week when I get to pureed foods. I'll be on full liquids until then. Maybe back it up a little and do more fluids and see if you feel better?
