Chobani Greek Yogurt

Recommended Posts

I have found the holy grail of Greek Yogurt. Okay, well at least I think it's fabulous.

Chobani Non-Fat Greek yogurt with fruit on the bottom. It tastes just like any of the Yoplait/Dannon yogurts that I've had in the past. It's smooth, creamy, and not bitter.

Here's a coupon code for a Buy 2 Get 1 Free Chobani Coupon.

strawberry and pineapple. I found these at our Publix grocery store on sale 10 for $10.

It's a little high on the carb count, but I'm assuming it's from the fruit.

Tiff,

Some of those carbs are coming from the fruit...however, 19 g of sugar is coming from the 3rd ingredient...evaporated cane juice (basically raw sugar).

I get the plain 0-2% fat greek yogurt and add no sugar added fruit jam. It keeps the carbs and sugars down for me.

I agree though...the Chobani does taste good!

I used your recipe with the sugar free Smuckers for awhile. I know it's probably not ideal for those in the "losing phase", but I'm trying my best to just maintain at this point.

I just have 1 every other day.

You don't think the sugar content is gonna be that detrimental to me at this point, do you?

Tiff,

I doubt it will cause you a problem. If it sparks cravings..by now you know how to deal with it. And you can cut your sugar intake everywhere else on the day you have that. At least it's not highly processed sugar. Google it, it's listed as a "healthy alternative".

I'd avoid it during active weight loss though.

Hey ladies. I also love greek yogurt. Can't wait for mushies phase, I'm all over it. There are also some seriously yummy and HIGH Protein brands that I buy here in Vegas:

Products | FAGE Total Authentic Greek Yogurt

Voskos Greek Yogurt - Products

The Voskos also has some good recipes on their page for the yogurt. The Fage non-fat is 20 grams of Protein per serving, and the non-fat Voskos is 24 grams of protein PER serving. Craziness! YUM!:smile::smile::smile:

I am lucky in my little hick town to find Greek Yogurt at all. Our Walmart had Brown Cow brand, and Safeway has started carrying Fage. The Fage is expensive though. It's 1.99 for a 6oz container.

Since it's so popular, I am hoping more stores are going to start carrying other brands of Greek yogurt.

Tiff, seriously, you were still losing when you didn't want to, so I doubt if those few carbs are going to cause you any trouble.

I've been buying the Fresh & Easy non-fat plain Greek Yogurt and using the SF coffee syrups for flavoring. The texture is so much better than the Yoplait and Dannon yogurts and for 8 oz. it has 9 gms of carbs and 24 gms of Protein. It's $1.49 at F&E and takes me about 45 minutes to eat and keeps me full for hours. So far I've used SF French vanilla and SF Raspberry. I purchased SF Carmel and SF non-alcoholic Kahlua at Sam's Club for variety!

That's what I do too. I am 2 hours away from costco so I have to buy the Brown Cow brand. The plain is much lower in calories and carbs so I use the sf syrups too. I have put jam in there and Protein Powder too.

Look for Davinci or torini brand of sf syrups. they are what people use to make espresso coffee drinks. They come in many, many flavors.

Tried the Trader Joes Greek style nonfat yogurt pomegranate flavor. I liked the thick "mouth-feel" but it was really "tangy". 12g carbs 14g Protein.

I was finally able to find the Chobani, and it was pretty good. The one's with the fruit in the bottom were too sweet for me though, so I'll have to get the plain if I try it again. Found out that they have a TUB of the FAGE at costco here now. It was only $6.49; it's $2 EACH for the small containers at the local grocery...

Loving the Greek Yogurt...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
