It's really not difficult at all.

Greek Yogurt with splenda was a staple in my diet.

Broths, herbal tea, Water got me through the clears.

Once you start mushies, and pureed food, you can't eat a lot, so eating 2 tespoons to 1 tablespoon of mashed potatoes is not even close to getting in more than 30 grams of carbs per day.

Avoiding white carbs, flour, rice, Pasta, decrease the your carb count.

What are you eating that is carb filled?

its not that im really eating anything very carb filled, its just i was doing some investigating in to Protein Drinks and such and the isporue ready to drink ive been buying at wal mart i just realized has 33 carbs :biggrin0: and my mom and i are looking in to getting baby food for the pureed stage(for days when were on the go lol) and realized that we will have to go searching for low carb. anyway it was just a moment of panic but once i create a menu plan for myself ill be good to go

Below 30 grams of carbs per day where my instructions.

My instructions were below 60 grams. I guess you could ask your surgeon's nurse. They may have their own ideas about this.

The frosted grape is the Isopure with 33 g of Carbs...the Alpine Punch has Zero...

My frosted grape is the low carb version, 0 carbs and 60 calories..Walmart usually carries both versions.

hey thanks everyone for your quick replies

so i was having kind of a dumb day yesterday and what sparked my post is that i bought the bottled Isopure at wal mart, however i didnt realize that they stock the carb, high cal version AND the low carb(60 gr a bottle) and low carb (0 a bottle) as well! so i got home and freaked out because i thought oh great thats my entire carbs for a day, but alas i got some sleep and today discovered the 2 different versions, so all is well again haha! I now can totally see staying under 30 carbs as being easy.

thanks for helping me in my time of stupidity lol

I'm glad you figured it out Lauren. My nutritionist/surgeon also said 30 grams or under and I pretty much did that until 3 months post-op and then decided to add fruit back in, which upped the carbs considerably. My weight loss started to slow quite a bit at that point, but I still lost. Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
