Anyone scheduled for sleeve with Dr. Aceves the week of Jan 18th - 22nd.

I'm scheduled for my sleeve with Dr. Aceves Jan 19th. I'll be arriving on the January 18th and heading home Jan. 22nd.

Would love to touch base with any others scheduled that week.

Look forward to meeting some friends while there.

Hi Barbara,

I'm hoping to come down that week or the one after that... Will be getting in touch with Nina to see if that's doable. Unfortunately, my work schedule won't allow for me to come the same day as you, but if I have my way, perhaps we will cross paths.

Dr. Aceves is a great person and doc, and the team is great. I had my band removed by them last March, but due to erosion complications, I was not able to revise to a sleeve at that time. Had to wait a bit, so now I'm getting ready.

Are they having you on a pre-op diet or anything like that? Congrats, and here's to a great experience for you! --

Hi You know it! It would be great if we were able to cross paths. I'm due to start my pre op diet on Jan 11th, but I've decided to start it a bit early, around Jan 1st.

So far I've been so impressed with Dr. Aceves office and staff. Everything I have read on these boards regarding him and his office has been positive and after dealing with them I have to agree.

Lets keep in touch to see if we will be able to at least say hello to each other while there.

I'm so sorry you had to wait to get your sleeve done but better to be safe and have a healthy "you" after it's all said and done.

Hi Barbara278,

Ifound out today I too will be there the 19th, so look for me on the 18th at the airport, WOO HOO.

I started out thinking Iwas going to go to Dr Almanza, but after reading about the complications coming from there I got scared and everything I have read here about Dr Aceves I jumped ship there and got on board.

I am getting excited and am glad that I'm going to have someone to go thru this with. I look forward to walking the halls with you.

Yaaahoooooooooooo Brenda! I'm so excited. I will look for you at the airport and we can definitely walk the halls together. It will be so much fun to have someone sleeved the same day and we can be a support for each other.

I have read nothing but positive things about Dr. Aceves and his office staff have been wonderful. I feel totally confident with him and that was a huge factor in picking him for my surgery.

I think both of us will be very pleased.

I just thought I would point out that on this board in the large thread there are 2 posters reporting infections. I wanted to point out how to show how much something can be blown out of proportion when the above poster mentions "reading about all the complications"! All those pages and posts and only 2 people reporting their actual experience. Sure makes it look like a lot more...doesn't it?

When considering the number of surgeries done at by that doctor at that facility, that is to be expected from time to time. It's unfortunate how some use this scare tactic to encourage others to "go with their doc" for the referral fee. And before anyone accuses me of calling anyone a fake, I'm not talking about the posters; I'm talking about those posing as happy patients and all the PM's going on behind the scenes!

I wish you a safe and successful surgery no matter who your surgeon is!!!

Good luck to you on the 19th! I'll be there for my VSG on the 11th & it's so reassuring seeing so many other posters headed to the same Dr!!!

Hi Kai. Congratulations on your date. It is exciting to see how many people are scheduled with Dr. Aceves. I don't think any of us will regret it. I look forward to hearing about your experience. :scared0:

Hi I will be going to see Dr Aceves on the 17th with surgery booked for the 18th. So I guess I can walk the halls with you as well. Nina told me there was another person booked for the 18th as well. So a full house.

See you there. Teri

WOW, so many of you there the week after me! I'll have to start a new post to see if I can find any company on here for my week too!

Congrats to all three of you (Barbara, Brenda & Teri), wish you all a safe surgery & happy you'll have each other as walking partners!

Kai, it's exciting isn't it? I'm sure you can find someone else from the board that is scheduled your week also. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you since you will just be one week ahead. :biggrin0:

I am pretty new here, but I will be sleeved (band to sleeve revision) with Dr. Aceves on the 21! I arrive on the 20th. I am coming alone, so I would love to know somebody there too!
