So in the cafeteria at work we have chairs with arms and chairs that don't have any arms. Before surgery I would always try to make sure I sat in the chairs with no arms because the chair with arms dug into my thighs basically I had to squeeze in them. Well I am currently comfortably sitting in the chair with arms with no problem. Yay!!

@@mngreeneyes -- Your towel NSV is gorgeous, but wasn't one of your reasons for losing weight to embrace indecency? Get it on, girl, parade that towel proudly right down the middle of Fifth Avenue. St. Patrick's Day will be the perfect time.

Oh I almost forgot to mention, my other NSV this week. We had big pants day at my WLS support group meeting. I brought a dress that used to fit really well. (I made it for myself so it was literally made for me!) I always got compliments for how nice I looked when I wore it. None of my support group had ever seen me where it however, but I decided to show them the difference of almost 55 lbs. by slipping it on over my clothes. Even before I could look up from arranging it on myself, the whole room gasped! Aside from the fact that it was about 3 inches longer than it used to be, I couldn't figure out what the shock was about. I had to ask my WLS SG friend sitting next to me why everyone gasped and she said, "because it looked like you were wearing a tent!"

I can tell I am smaller, but sometimes I dont' think others can necessarily tell. I don't hear it anyway except from my friends and family who know. But the spontaneous surprise from a whole room of people many of whom had never met me before was priceless!

I can fit in the tub! I took a bath (the first one in years because I couldnt fit good) I couldnt believe how much room I had! It felt so good to be able to lay in the tub and have my whole body under the water!! I didnt want to get

Out! And... I love wrapping myself up in a normal sized bath towel instead of a big beach towel!!

Today I'm wearing jeans for the first time since about 1999. They are a pair of misses size 22 that I had in a box in my garage. A pulled them out of the garage around Christmas I think. At that time I couldn't pull them all the way up. Then a few weeks later, I could pull them all the way up but not button/zip them. Then I could button/zip, but not breathe at the same time.

Today I'm wearing them to work (doctor is out in surgery so we have no patients, so it's casual), and they are comfortably buttoned/zipped. I don't care if they are out of date (they are very faded) and kind of look like mom jeans. I'M WEARING SIZE 22 JEANS!!!!

NSV today. I dropped my dry cleaner off and the nice lady working there asked me. "Do you mind if I ask you something?" Me "no, go ahead " Her "how much weight have you lost? You look great." I thanked her and continued with my day.

This is a drive thru dry cleaner , all she can see is my face ????

I never posted to this thread before but had to share. Maybe it's silly, but I just caught myself sitting criss cross applesauce/Indian style in my work chair. My work chair has arms and my crossed legs still fit under the desk. Whaaaat?

Love my sleeve! Almost 5 months out and 70 lbs down. I catch myself doing things like this all the time now without thinking. Crazy

@@chrys129 wow that's awesome! I'm 77lb down and Im noticing things like that too! Like the other day when I put my hands on my hips and I realized I was actually for the first time since I was a little kid... my hand was actual on my hip bone. Not on a fat pad over the bone!!! I was so excited I was having everybody at work feel. :)

Great thread.....always makes me grin to read the cool stories in here.

Well.....had a NSV myself yesterday. I put on a pair of cargo shorts and shirt and wore 'em out and about on my excursions.

The NSV part of this is that I haven't worn shorts outside of the house in years.....years. Oh, and the shirt.....was a size that I didn't think I'd be able to wear until late this coming Summer. It's actually too baggy right now.

Fun stuff.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
