Was banded yesterday morning and had a huge hiatal hernia. I am in quite a bit of pain especially from the hernia repair. I am also terrified that if I cough my band will slip or something will go wrong. Can anyone reassure me?

I too had a bad hiatal hernia repaired when they banded me. I have to say everything has gone smooth as silk since. I feel better than ever! You'll be fine,coughing will not cause your band to slip, you'll be just fine. Rest and give yourself time to heal. God bless!

is your cough really deep and nagging and gets worse when you lay down? I am told by many that it is normal and it will go away but I am so nervous too.

I also had a hernia repair with my surgery. I'm almost three years out have met my goal and is still losing. U will be fine. Congratulations!!!

I suspected I had a hernia but wasn't 100% sure. The surgeon said it was huge. I am feeling ok. Not as sore today and sure everyday will be better. Gonna take some milk of magnesia tomorrow to try and regulate things a little :/

I took 6 days off work. Back to it this Friday.
