That is how it has been for me for over 2 years now....people say they are not hungry only between meals....I am not hungry at all, 24/7...the band is there 24/7, so why would it only work sometime??? I need to remind myself, and sometimes force myself to get a good meal in....I have gone full 24 hr. periods without eating, if I am busy at work for instance, and get home too late to eat anything.....

Not only have I lost all interest in food, my tatstes for foods have also changed...things just don't tase that appealing anymore....

I must wait since I am going on vacation out of the country.

When I get home I am going back. I get depressed sometimes.

I'm out just over 4 years and have yet to hit my green zone. I have a 12cc realize band w about 8.6cc in it. What about you? Any advice? So frustrating.

I gather that not everyone gets the complete loss of hunger at the green zone, so I am careful about saying that it's what people should look for. But for me, being in the green zone does mean zero hunger. I can go all day without eating, and end up shaking up the end of the day from the lack of food. I had to set my alarm to remind myself to eat.

I am no longer in the green zone but that's my choice (I'm trying to be in maintenance but still losing slowly), so I'm closer to the other 'ideal' of not being hungry between meals. That's a good place to be too!

I have a 10cc band and felt nothing until 6cc. Sometimes some people just need a little more fill than others do.

It took me 3-4 years to feel like I am in the green zone. Sometimes I am hungry between meals but I think my metabolism is on track and I burn more calories. Which it doesnt bother me because I make good snack choices and like the fact I can eat a little bit more. For the first 2 years of my band, I had a rough time eating meals so I appreciate finally being where I am. Sometimes I feel like I can use a little fill because I can finish a full meal but then think about how much I am enjoying being able to eat anything I want and decided not to get a fill. What I mean by eat a full meal is still a small plate with 1 Protein & 1 veggie side.

Enjoy the green zone!!! It took a long time to get here!

I actually lost from the beginning because I stuck to band sized portions. It was hard but I figured I only had to keep it up until the band kicked in, and lo and behold, I ended up losing most of my weight before it actually started working!

But yeah, 60lbs in 6 weeks, wt? Lol! I did do a lot of educating of my family and friends and said it would take a long time for me to lose the weight. I think by saying that, and explaining that the band wasn't working yet, most were surprised when they saw me losing anyway. Though the first time I ever got stuck (at 6.5cc) was at a family party and THEN they knew the band was working. Me jumping around like I was doing a rain dance, then throwing up what I had just eaten, was a bit of a wake up call for them AND me!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
