Recommended Posts

hello my name is Dana and I'm very frustrated about my lap band I feel like giving up sometimes but I feel like also giving up is not an option being that I had my surgery July 9th 2013 I have lost 13 pounds which is not a lot to me I know the key is slow and steady but from my highest weight I have lost a total of 30 pounds so I am very grateful for that but now I think I have reached a stall I have been the same weight of 274 or 272 for the past two weeks now and I just don't know what to do I just had to fill and now I have a total of 5 .2 cc I had that feel about a week and a half ago and I still feel kind of no restriction but if you guys can help with any ways to help break a stall I would very much appreciate it I have joined a gym and been doing cardio and good exercise so any tips would be helpful thank you

Two weeks is not a stall. When you have not lost weight for a couple of months then that is a stall. Keep going you will lose.

13 lbs in a month is sufficient weight. I know you just want it to be gone, but thats not good for you. Spend some time taking care of yourself, new food habits exercise etc and take your eyes off of the scales. Count your calories as stated. That is very important. They can build up before you realize it. The weight will take care of itself. I'm learning this slowly. My doc says he only wants me to lose 3 to 5 lbs a month and I really want it to go faster. But, I also want it to be gone and to be healthy.

My neighbor's celebrating her1 year anniversary this month. Shes lost 60lbs in 12 months when u average it out thts only 5lbs per month.

Her highest weight was 307. And she has no loose skin. She looks Great!

She doesnt eat right she has small portions of junk all day long. She drinks alcohol on weekends sodas and even breads whenever she wants.

She says shes excited to have lost the 60 than to have gained 60

I love her rock star personality!

You have to establish the correct intake balance and exercise balance to consistently loss weight and everyone's is different. I personally had to eat very high Protein 80-90 gms consistently, around 100 gms of carbs and exercise 6 days a week doing cardio and weights 3 days a week. Ihad many stalls along the way and some lasted as long as 5 months but I never gained and sometimes I lost inches. I do measure and weigh my food and count calories but more important I monitor my protein intake and portions. Be patient we did not become obese overnight.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
