I dont feel like eating anything

I am on day 7 of a 14 day pre-op diet. The past couple of days I have not wanted to eat anything. I did not have any protein shake or meal or even water it was that bad. I forced myself to eat some fish and sip a protein shake and gagged on both. Has anyone else experienced this?

I could not tolerate anything for a week and a half. I couldnt stand the way my Protein shakes tasted and I couldn't get my Water in. I would try to sip it slowly and still couldn't get more than 2oz of protein and water down per day. I thought I was dehydrating. I purchased some low calorie gatorade and lots of sugar free Jello, Popsicle and oatmeal, mashed potatoes. It really did help me out a lot during the next four days. Then I started solids. Each day It got better just keep sipping and make sure you are listening to your body.

I wouldn't recommend fish at 7 days post-opt. I would try mushy foods since that generally is the next step after liquid, but that is what my doctor recommended for me. you should try to talk with your doctor to see what he or she suggest.

Did u say ur on PRE-Op? So u havent had the surgery yet? And u cant seem to get anything down?

I was STARVING at pre-op. i cldnt do the liquid 14 day diet leading up to surgery.

I lost no weight during tht time and my doc did my surgery anyways

ABSOLUTELY!! I'm on day 6 of my 10 day liquid diet and yesterday I felt like I wanted to cry. I just felt like I was going to throw up if anything liquid passed my lips. I called the nurse nutritionist and she talked me over hump. I got the go ahead to make my own creamed soups with fresh veggies. I love to cook and I was not only tired of the liquids, I was missing the process of preparing my meals. So it's roasted tomatoe soup, creamed of course!! Today is better
