Ok fellow bandsters I just found out I got the sleeve instead of the band. I'm not sure how to process that yet......tbc

That was my biggest fear while getting mine done because 50 people around me were getting the sleeve. The staff kept telling me about the sleeve and I kept telling them I was getting the lapband. However, not sure i would have been upset to get the sleeve.

Ps is anyone hungry? I Ben having my small meals 2 to 3 oz and 60 grams of Protein and liquids but I am hungry more

I have been starving since my operation! I ate real food the day after. Along with liquid stuff, I ate some tuna today and a few crackers. I'm not a sweet guy, so all these hellos and Popsicles and Protein Shakes and sweet on top of sweet on top of sweet are to much for me!

My appetite is starting to return. It's because the swelling in or stomachs is starting to go down and we are healing. Just stick with band sized portions of whatever phase diet you are in and if necessary eat a bit more frequently.

I'm personally choosing to "white knuckle" it and if I'm hungry - well - isn't the first time and i will survive. I know I'm in the fastest time frame for loss that I will have and am trying to maximize it while getting all the nutrients my body needs to heal.

That's one way to do it.

Has anyone noticed that almost every commercial on TV is about food or has a food reference in it?

I have a friend trying to have the surgery and can not afford the $28,000 . Can you give me an estimate of how much it is in Mexico? Don't mean to be nosy and understand if you do not want to.

All told, with airfare from Phoenix to San Diego and 2 nights in the hotel I'm at about $4500. That includes an extra $100 fee from the place for a guest and my guest airfare. If going alone, it's around $3800 not including airfare.

Thank you George. That is amazing! I will let her know. Is there a web site she can go on to find out more information?

FTR, I'm not sure if it was time or the activated charcoal or walking around the mall and crop dusting the hipsters but I just noticed my gas pain, in my shoulder is almost all gone!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
