That is not good. You have to drink at least water just to keep from getting dehydrated. Please call your doctor's office and inform them. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks I will

Hi I had the band put in July 11 too but I'm in a lot of pain is it normal

I had my band done in the 10th I notice the pain eases more n more everyday! Hang in there! Are you walking? I kno it's hard when ur hurting but try to walk slowly it helps ! Well it helped me! Good luck n feel better!

@verasa...

I can only speak from my experience. I had pain for about 5-7 days. Everyone is different. Are you taking pain meds?

Def not normal.... hope you have contacted your doctor. I was banded July 10 and haven't had any issues with any thin liquids. Jello, pudding, and yogurt felt odd going across the band, but I've had no nausea or vomiting, and really no hunger either. Just gas pains in my shoulder and under my ribs. And of course soreness throughout my tummy, especially where my port is. Walking and still taking pain meds frequently (less medicine today though, only 3 doses).

Band twins :D

I'm also four days post-op and just this morning my pain is starting to get better. :D Hopefully this will last for the remainder of the day. What happens after you drink anything? Do you get sick? Are you sipping slowly?

Thnx girls I'm walking a lot and taking my pain meds every 4-6 hours :( I hope I feel better soon

Banded july 5th and just now starting to feel ok! I still have gas pain and bloating after I eat.. We all heal different ways! ;)

Still in a little pain the most pain is the gas keep going and coming.

I was banded on the 11th too!! I literally hate drinking plain water but you gotta drink. I switched from water to propel which is much better for me. I haven't felt like having much else tho, the gas pains are still are a lil irritating. I'm staying away from yogurt & milk cause it makes me gassy. I started an ensure clear today, seems a lil too sweet but it's okay.

Good luck and call your doc 1st thing Monday about your liquid intake.

Thanks I will call the doctor and also have any one been having diareahh

Miss Mo I'm getting nervous because I haven't had any bowel movement yet. But I have only been drinking propel and eating jello. The day before my surgery I had to drink 2 bottles of laxatives & do 2 fleet enemas. I think I was literally cleaned out. I'll be calling my doctor tomorrow as well. I wonder if we get real bad diarrhea can we take immodium ad.

I felt like I may be getting constipated (pod 4 for me) too.... then today I had massive bm... like diarrhea mixed with formed stool... stomach was cramping unbelievably, but afterwards I felt 100% better! tmi probably, but just my experience! As a nurse I've heard your first lg bm after anesthesia usually clears the sluggishness out of your system, but that could just be one of those myths that get passed on and on...

Long story short, despite all the warnings to take a stool softener lousy op... it wasn't an issue for me. Would like to know about the anti-diarrheal though....
