surgery date July 31st 2013

Recommended Posts

It finally came the day will arrive sooner than later. I don't have anything really yet but I go on my pre.-op diet on the 17th! I also have a meeting on the 18th at the seminar. The reason its so far away its because I still have one more test to do but its not required to have it. Its the sleep apnea test. I still need a lot of support as to I'm still down and out of it and don't know why? Lord help me

Hello! Have you had a sleep study before?? It's a pretty easy test, you get to sleep through it (I don't know about you, but that sounds pretty good to me!). Only thing is it can be annoying because they hook up leads around your body and they can get in your way. Do you think you are nervous about the surgery part, or the afterwards, and that's why you are feeling down?

I have never had a sleep study done before. I have barley any support that's why I came on here. I feel like I've been waiting for this to come and now that's its here I'm not really encouraged. I started in October and its June an I have to wait until the end of July I have to wait even longer.I'm just ready to get this over with so I can be a happier person.idk but thank you!

That's really tough to do this with little support. I'm glad you came on here, these people are WONDERFUL. I have never met perfect strangers who were so warm, inviting and helpful. Any questions you have, put them out there. If you need support and someone to listen, be prepared because so many people will help you out. I hope for you that as you explore on here you become more at ease and excited for your surgery. As for the sleep study, it will be over with before you know it. Bring anything you like to do before bed to help you fall asleep.

@myshine84, the sleep study is kinda important bc as I understood it from the pulmonologist & surgeon it dictates your stay in the hospital for over night. Im a belly & side sleeper, so the test came back as mild sleep apnea. I made the personal choice to stay overnight. "A club med vacation as I call it." By the way, I know it's hard not having support. I have heard things from "your taking the easy way out" or "your beautiful you dont need that, just work out" <~~ those people can take a hike. Bc I do work out and I do eat kinda right but still cant lose & keep off. my highest weight was 280. Keep in touch. We are all here for the same reason!!!

3 more days until my surgery. I am so anxious I think I may have a heart attack. The problem with being so anxious now is that I usually deal with anxiety by eating… soooooo, that is increasing my anxiety. Please tell me I am not the only one that feels this way.

Ppl kill me not knowing any to little information about the lapband . I feel like screaming shut the blank up haaaaa. Its my body not there's but thank you so much for the support always looking for positive comments:0)!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
