Date set for June 27th - anybody scheduled for the same week?

I like the sugar-free syrups (in coffee aisle of grocery store), added to vanilla Protein Shake. Also, in baking aisle, there are lots of extracts- banana, coffee, anise, peppermint- you can mix +match to get a flavor you like.

You have to check the label though- make sure there is no dextrose, sucrose, fructose, cane sugar or anything that adds carbohydrates

The extracts are a good idea! I did not think of it. Yesterday, I bought 4 flavors of Crystal light, and Gatorade, a lot of diet green tea. I will check the cheesecake pudding mix next time. I have been using Truvia as sweetener, that seems to work for me.

I'm on the 27th as well! Mine was supposed to be on the 28th and just got moved up a day so I'm fine with that. Right now I'm on day 5 of the preop diet and it SUCKS! But I'm not worried about the pain yet, just super excited! I'm being realistic about the parts that I know are going to suck, but I keep thinking that I made it through a way worse surgery in December so I know I can handle this one. Good luck everybody having surgery this week!!

I am June 26th! I'm excited to find you all. I was only finding early June groups and they are so much further than where I am at. I am currently on a 10 day pre-op diet which is high Protein low carb. Basically I start by day with a Protein shake and then lean meat and fresh veggies for the other meals. I have to keep my calories in the 800 to 1,000, Protein 80 to 90 grams and carbs no more than 130 grams.

Good luck to all of you and I look forward to joining you on your journeys :)

Thanks everyone! Yes, I am pretty nervous as this is the first surgery I have ever had! But, I am also excited to start this process! Unfortunately, I now have three fewer days to prepare. This weekend will be super busy shopping for Clear Liquids (like Isopure, etc.), cleaning house and doing laundry...as I figure I won't feel up to doing any of that for a few days!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
