so today, after i got home from work, i did my step aerobics DVD....and it felt good......and then i went outside and chatted on the phone with amanda and hub came out to cut grass.....i hung up the phone and told hub i wanted to cut grass...so he gave me the lawn mower and up and down and up and down

i went........so yeah i was wearing blue flip flops but i spent 20 min cutting the side of our house.....while hub sat in the chair and watched

who would have thunk that a year post op that my 336 pound body would do a step aerobic class AND cut grass with lawn mower on the same day within an hour of each other..

this post is to say, the band WORKS

Great NSV but next time wear proper footwear, please. The risk to your feet when mowing is really large and getting hurt would slow your brilliant progress right down. (Sorry, I work in OHS, couldn't help myself.)

That's great, I hope to follow in your foot steps.

UPDATE:

well, let me say that me moving and pulling and using my upper arms to move that little red lawn mower has made my arms (sore) and that is a good thing..sorry i posted another silly success (i mean who cant mow their lawn) but that would be ME who couldnt...so yeah, i wanted to share.

thanks for the great responses.

i think all yall are terrific.

having support is critical..

I like ALL of the "silly successes". These are things most of us totally get, and it's good to take notice of the little things......that aren't really "little".

This is silly, but I'm sure many can relate.... At my client's office, I sit in a Herman Miller chair. The arms move in and out, and as soon as I sit down, I've always had to push the arms outward......to accommodate my wideness. Yesterday when I was there, I noticed as I was leaving, that I hadn't moved the arms out. I looked back at the chair & thought...WOW. I would always move the arms back into their normal position, because I was humiliated that I couldn't fit comfortably with the arms going straight forward. A small thing, but certainly a victory :)

CG - keep'em coming! I love these things

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
