Hey everyone. I finally have my surgery date on the 24th of June. Only a very few select people are going to know I have had the lapband put in.. Can anyone suggest another surgery that I could say I have as my work will have to know I'm going to hospital to get time off.. Thanks!

You could say your having a hernia repair or a hiatal hernia problem that will be fixed. I wound up having a small hernia so it all worked out.

Or don't say anything.

I told one of the bosses at one of my jobs that I'm having surgery that day. She actually asked what I was having done (I'm in the medical field, everyone asks that stuff) and I just said it is not something I want to discuss. She didn't ask again. I don't think I could live with telling a lie, but that is just me. You can always act like it is a female surgery and that would shut up most people.

I know a lady who told everyone she was having esophageal resection!!
