Your doc has you on solids this soon?? I was allowed purée foods 24hours post-op but stayed on liquids 3 days because I simply didn't feel like eating... I'd call them first thing tomorrow morning to find out exactly what they want you to be eating. I don't think it's uncommon to have problems eating solids this soon, I'm 4 weeks post op and there's still several foods that I can't/ am not allowed to eat. Good luck!!!

But I had my surgery on may 20. ts hard but now I am on the 15 days after my lapband and I would have food that I can chew real good like tuna, chilli, Soup. so now I should be doing soft foods. but it is hard when everybody is eating soild food that's why I get someu that we can eat together but make sure you chew your food in to the puree type in your mouth. And don't eat nothing with fat or with oil yet. What I do is keep in mind that it can slip so that's why I am scared of that.

Sorry should worded what I was talking about better. I am not on solid food yet. But I severely craving it and was wondering what people did to cope with this.

Oh ok, now I get it! :) well the craving of food didn't start for me that early, but it did come around. When do you go to purée foods? My advice is just think about the serious complications that eating this early could cause.. I know the food looks, smells and probably tastes good, but it's simply not worth it. You will be able to have good tasting solid food again, but you just have to wait it out.. Good luck!! Stay strong, no solid food is with hurting yourself over (which it sounds like you understand that very well). Sorry that I don't have any great advice

Whoops I misunderstood as well sorry. Leave it to the female to Jump to conclusions lol.

Purée food make it easier but the first week was pretty bad. Once I was on full liquids it was better. I also purchased a cookbook on line that had guide lines for what to eat and how to eat it depending on how many weeks it had been since surgery. Those cook books are still my life saver.

I did bad and tried to move to solids on my second week because I was chewing it really well and putting it in my magicbullet blah blah blah but once I went to me post op appointment and got a better understanding of why I can't hurry my self along (insides healing and adapting) I put a stop to it and started following the doctors instructions

I was banded on May 30th and the urge to actually chew my food is steadily increasing. I feel your pain. I find myself eating popsicles to try and curb the solid food blues. At least I can bite them and try to trick myself.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
